Bluetooth streaming solution

The best part is that it still allows you to use the steering‑wheel controls to skip tracks, and it even displays track information in the instrument cluster. The sound quality isn’t perfect, but it’s a workable solution. I recently dropped SiriusXM and have been using this along with my 120‑GB iPod Classic for music, so this adapter has been a helpful upgrade.

Our cars are dam near 20 years old now, and finding aftermarket solutions are hard to come by.
Yullie did it come with the angle plug also? I’m interested in getting one so I don’t have to plug my phone in. Thanks for posting this. I remember years ago someone posting something like this but I couldn’t find it again.
I would like to find one for my 2011 Silverado also. It has Bluetooth but it’s only for the phone calls not music. Same as the E55, I have to plug into the truck for music from my phone.

Mine has it. Not sure if it’s an option or not.

Earlier this year, I had been using the white iPod cable that had been in the car for ages to connect my 120 GB classic iPod. Now that I no longer subscribe to SiriusXM, this connection has become more essential than ever.
During a recent maintenance visit to my shop, I mentioned to my mechanic that my well-worn iPod cable was barely holding together after years of use.
He informed me that Mercedes had updated the design to a black connector and, by chance, had an extra one on hand, which he kindly installed for me.
My particular cable is NLA. But these others here might work for you.

For those with just an aux input, the easiest solution is a decent quality bluetooth receiver, into the aux port. Lots to choose from in that arena that also have decent sound quality.

Mine has the round Aux round connection in the glove box only.
Bob, so there is a Bluetooth device that plugs into the aux that will play music from my iPhone? Any suggestions on one?
I do have the factory Bluetooth dongle? that’s in the center console for the cell phone to connect to the car.
Any way to play for it to be connected to use the phone and play music with one Bluetooth connection instead of two?

When my E63 AMG was manufactured, this was the state-of-the-art solution for hands-free calling, allowing the car’s COMAND system to communicate with modern mobile devices. Fast-forward, we now have streaming services that the puck never had to deal with, and finding a solution can be difficult.
My Bluetooth adapter although not a perfect solution does fill the gap which you can now stream Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, etc.

Yullie I couldn’t think of the correct name but yes it’s the puck in the console where the OG Mercedes cell phone was at.
The puck connects with my phone for calls but doesn’t play the music. Unless I’m missing how to making that work.

I posted the information on this further down in the thread. For the record, I now have two Bluetooth adapters in the car, one takes care of phone calls, and the other streams music. I hope that clears things up.

Forget what I mentioned before, fellow member Rovel has come up with a solution to our problem. He’s developed a Bluetooth Streaming Module that’s truly plug-and-play. I had the module installed yesterday, and it’s a total game changer. The audio quality is incredible, far better than the module I bought on Amazon.
The clarity is unbelievable—no degradation at all, everything sounds crisp and clear. I’m completely impressed. He also sells merchandise, and for those with comfort access issues, he offers door handle touch pads as well.
Take a look at his website: https://accentoncars.com/

Elvin, added a revision to the module making it truly plug & play, no cutting of wires are needed. And that is the kit I received. This module is Bluetooth 5.2, so it will connect automatically when you turn on the radio and Bluetooth is active on your phone. This is a very good kit. The link for the video is down in the instructions.

I bought a generic adaptor off Amazon. It works but while streaming, you have to crank the volume almost to max just to be comparable to cd/fm volume at half and the sound quality isn't great.

The connection is true HD, pairs instantly, and the sound quality is like listening to a CD. With the Amazon adapter, I was constantly adjusting the volume depending on the audio source.
With this new streaming module, I couldn't be happier and its truly plug & play and has it's own antenna so no signal degradation. And I'm glad that I made the switch, and anything sold on the market is junk, compared to Elvin's streaming module.
