The Official W211 Wheel Thread: Post Pics
#880
Hey guys, breaking my cherry here. Just joined and picked up my 2006 E55 and ordered my wheels & Tires yesterday. I know they will work for the most part, but have a few questions...below are the wheel specs
Stock suspension. STR 601 wheels (BBS LM Reps).
Front 19x8.5. ET30 running a Sumitomo HTRZ II 245/35/19.
Rear 19x10. ET 32 running the same tire in a 275/30/19.
I dont plan on lowing much, maybe links down the road??
My question is...Will I clear the front caliper with this setup without spacers. The sales guy told me it would be VERY close. Paying only $1500 for the whole set up shipped to me door, I was willing to roll the dice. I wanted to see if I will deff need spacers.
Any input?

got 12mm spacers up front and the offset is now perfect BUT
I miscalculated the tire size. running 235 275 so now ill have to ride extra low to cover up my fk up... I hate to run too low but got no choice until these tires are done.
ill post some once I get a chance to play with my lowering module. she is going to be slammed

E55 W211
here is my current setup
Japan Racing JR10
8,5x19 offset35 with 10mm spacers to offset 25 (245-35-19)
11x19 offset30 (275-30-19)
I donŽt like the front wheels... not enough stretch and the fitment is not very good looking.
My next set of wheels is on the way... in the middle of june iŽll get some deep concave japan racing jr11 in 9,5 and 11x19 inch. :-))))

Offset help
I picked up an 06' 211 E55 last year and I'm now planning on running new wheels. I'm looking at Vossen (I haven't decided on which yet, either VFS 1's or CV1'S) in a 20x9 f and 20x10.5 r and plan to lower on links. My concern is offset. I don't want to modify the fenders (rolling/shaving) but also don't want any rubbing. I was thinking 32-35 offset with 245/30 in the front and 40-42 offset with 285/25 in the rear (where I am most concerned). Does anyone think it would be a stretch to have this setup with no rubbing after being lowered with no fender modification? Anyone running these wheels with a similar setup while lowered? Any issues? Any suggestions on a better setup to avoid the aforementioned concerns? Thanks everyone in advance for any advisement.

Also, I love how we here in the U.S. try to get away from the amber side markers and you guys in Europe want the U.S. spec bumpers/rub strips. Glad to see things haven't changed from my VW/Audi days!
