thanks mondo, BRABUS IV by BBS for BRABUS 18x10 on all 4 corners. Originally for the ML. It’s hard to capture in pics but there they were refinished polished lips and brushed faces + caps brushed with edges polished so the caps match wheels. I’ve since had them disassembled and faces powder coated gloss black.
I am thinking of replacing my 20's with 18's or 19's. if i could find a set of those i would probably buy them.
20 < 19 < 18
IMO 20s are too big for our cars, but that’s just me. 19s were tolerable and *could look the best but that’s subjective to personal opinion. 19s still looked too big on my 211 to me and prevented me from getting as low as I wanted to go. In my experience 18s ride the best especially when running a 10” wide wheel on all 4 corners.
These wheels pop up for sale from time to time and there isn’t a huge market out there on them because the offsets are so high. If a set surfaces and you move on them you’ll need 20mm spacers up front to keep the inner barrel from fouling susp components + might as well space out the rears accordingly while at it so it doesn’t have a prerunner truck stance.
H&R “DRA” series spacers (the bolt on type) are the only spacers I’ve ever run and never had any issues since 08. Just make sure to torque to spec and retorque after driving a bit.
Last I remember there was a set of 5 wheels on fleabay for $2k ~ish but they were up for a while so I’m sure you’de be able to work out a deal with the seller.
Cheers for the info re:spacers as i was going to ask that. there's a few sets on ebay actually, but i am guessing the shipping to Australia would be a killer. i agree totally about rim diameter. i live in a rural area too so the road surfaces out here are pretty ordinary.

Just got these new wheels in last week from carid.com and got a really good price. For the rims I went with TSW Chrono's and for the tires I went with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's. I decided to stay with 18's due to personal preference, and I gotta say I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Performance, looks, and value all exceeded my expectations. The original AMG center caps were also a direct fit.
Front: 245/40 ZR18 Y 18" x 8.5"
Rear: 275/35 ZR18 Y 18" x 9.5"
It's from New Hampshire. Its probably the one you're thinking of, the previous owner posted on here quite a bit. So far I'm loving it. This car is easily the funnest one that I've ever been behind the wheel of, and I've had several fun cars. Very happy that I discovered E55's.
Thanks,
Patrick

been searching for pics and ideas. Has anyone seen a silver W211 E55 with stock gray wheels? I need to paint mine and looking to go darker. Gray is my first choice. I bought some Mercedes OEM center caps and they are color code 7X21 High Gloss Polished Himalaya Gray so thought of just copying that color to the wheels.
