Anyone have firsthand experience with EVO Stage One

Just wondering how dramatic the difference is from stock. Jumping from 470 to 550hp has to be pretty dramatic.

Any input you have would be great...

Thanks for the info Pete...this is where I am confused....check out the ad below. The BIG BOLD letters say 550hp with stage 1 and 580hp with stage 2...yet the tiny white letters say what you said...45hp with stage 1 and 80 with stage 2.... What do you make of that??

Thanks again

thats because the car actually makes hp in the 490's just like all the other 55 cars, like 495-500ish so 40+ hp stage 1 is around 550.

Okay so now more confused than ever.....so all the numbers are wrong and the 55's actually put out 490 instead of 470....is this like the old hemi motors where they claim an hp number, but they actually where much more powerful.

Fast 55....anybody cheaper you would recommend...I know it's a gouge....but what can a guy do.

Not much unfortunately. Renntech, Kleeman, they're all expensive. Peter is correct. Regardless of MB's claims, everyone who has dyno'd seems to be getting the same power as the other 55's. There is no reason a CL55 would make 493 HP and an E would make "only" 469 HP. MB marketing I'm sure.

intercooler is slightly different on E55 and CL55, exhaust is smaller diameter on the E55, and ECU programming could have restricted the E55s power output... and yes, they did this b/c of marketing!!!
