Any tips on ECU removal....

Gonna try the speedtuningusa.com route and see what happens. Way I see it, if I don't like, I am out 349$...no biggee....then we pull out the 2-3K and go Kleeman and have um reflash and do some pulleys.

Any tips or pics you could share on pulling the ECU...can't find anything. I know you pull the wire plugs in the fuse box....but how does ECU come out...what's holding it in place.

Thanks again.

Last time I checked, Renntech website had a step by step with photos how to remove.

Nothing in particular is holding the ECU in place...it is an interference fit in a plastic holder. Once you remove the black plastic cover on the driver's side, the ECU will be right there. The connectors come off easily but do them in order as they fit closely. As stated above, the Renntech website has a nice "how to" section on the ECU removal. It would be difficult(not impossible) to mess this up.

Please help!! I was going to do the same. Please let me know how all goes. I would like to send mine out also. I guess you will be going 165+ very soon. In order to test the the ECU you have to go to 155+ but I have seen 160 on my 2005 and it is stock. I think it is because there is so much momentum built up that as the car is pulling like mad from 4th to 5th then full boost for 1-2 seconds then you hit 155, at that time the car was at max RWHP and RWTQ and I still had car floored so I think it let off boost and cut fuel but no brakes were applied or any of that ESP or ASB or BS to sloow car down???????????

I'm thinking about it too, one question is it possible to drive the car wouthout the ECU ? I doubt it, just making sure

Because it's my daily driver and if i'm gonna send the ECU and untill it comes back it's gonna be a while... So i dont know how to do it.
