Yep, you heard me. No E55. No E55 wagon. Man, what a disappointment.
On the flip side, they did have the CLS55 (the red one). To me at least, this car looks much better in person, even in this color. It wasn't good enough to change my mind (only three months to go
), but if you're even thinking about the CLS, see it in the flesh.

What's up fellow rad.....did you take any pics of the CLS you can post?
The CLS is starting to intrigue me. Maybe its just the newness of it, though. When I see one in person then I guess I'll decide if I want to trade my E55 for it.

Hi there,
Now that is weird as I KNOW they told me here in Los Angeles that they sent the wagon on to Detroit for their autoshow once the press saw it here. It never got a public showing in LA. Do you think they only had it for the press there as well?

I searched the whole place and asked the suits, but no E55.
Sorry Eagleeye, I didn't take my camera. But it was the same car as on autospies.
In pictures, it always seems like the rocker panel arches up. I know it doesn't, just an illusion. In person, you don't get this effect. It must be the sweep of the roof.
The two things I didn't like- The back end of the CLS, viewed from the side, is truly elegant. It just looks classy to me. The rear wheels are big and beefy, just the way an AMG should be. But the wheels just don't look right with that rear end. Second is a similar complaint. Same cool instrument dials as on your (and soon my) E55. But they just don't seem to go with the large panel of wood covering the dash on the CLS. The sport and the luxury just don't look right next to each other.
