I would go for the CLK because it's the 'new kid' on the block.

none
Get the E55..the CLS looks like a Dodge product and is ugly IMHO.
Chances are you will pay over sticker for the CLS. If you have your heart set on the CLS Id wait till next year when you will be able to get a bettery deal.

2005 E55
Do you need a full back seat? I understand the CLS is a 2 plus 2. If you need to put car seats in the back (as I do), the CLS isn't really an option.

I haven't seen the CLS in person. So i can't comment about aesthetic preferences except to say that the CLS looks hot in pictures.

I like the CLS. Having said that, for my daily use and sometimes spirited driving, I find the E55 the perfect car for my needs. The CLS felt almost as big as my S55 that I used to have.

The CLS is a 4 seater instead of 5 like the E. However, the rear legroom felt roomier than the E. I'd say its between an S and an E in interior size. Not as tight as the E but not as ample as the S.

I was debating between a CLS and 645i for my wife. After showing both cars, she was more attacted to the CLK500 than the CLS and 645. She definitely did not like the CLS. She thought it look like the Buick we rented sometime ago. It would be better for me if she picks the CLK as it would be a lot cheaper than those 2 other cars.

E55. No other alternatives allowed when you list the Beast itself.

According to your post history you say you already own a new E55. I'd say both cars will be very similar in driving. If handling is what you are after, wait for the M5 or look into a 645 which will handle better than both cars.

I just saw and sat in a CLS at my dealer. Boy - is that back seat small in the CLS. If you need a back seat get the E55 - if not get the CLS
