* Brabus Black Chrome *

I've heard a few times people mention "..Black chrome grille like Brabus does..."

Does anyone have pics/info on what this looks like and where it can be purchased?

I wanted to have my front grille powder coated black but wanted to investigate this alternative first.

Any info would be appreciated.

That's not what I was expecting. I know about that type of grille.

When I heard black chrome I was expecting it to look like the new wheels I see that are "black chrome".

Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about.

I know what finish you're talking about. I believe it is anodized, similar to the "black chrome" trim on my '02 E55. I think you can get your grill finished that way. Check with the local plating companies.

Fast 55: is your grill made of plastic or metal?

Do you have a pic of your car that you can post for me?

Here's an interior shot that shows the trim around the windows pretty well. My grill is stock.

Fast55,

First, let me say that you have a very nice looking E55. Paint looks great!!

Are you saying that the trim around the window sills have been plated? If so, have you noticed any chipping or flaking of the paint?

I am wondering if I can safely plate the grille and not deal with paint flakes and chips.

Thanks again!

Thanks. The trim is stock actually. It's not painted, so I always assumed it was some type of anodizing, which can be done to existing trim and emblems. It can be scratched, but cannot flake or peel.
