New Tire/wheel Options on 2006 E55?

The 2006 E55 will probably have new rubber options like the CLS-Class. The CLS Sport has new sizes in the AMG Double Spoke rim and bigger tires front and rear than the 2005 E55 AMG:

18X8.5
18X9.5
255/40/18
285/35/18

The CLS55 AMG comes with a 5 spoke:

19X8.5
19X9.5
255/35/19
285/30/19

18X8.5
18X9.5
255/40/18
285/35/18 Hm?

So does it mean that I can put that huge 285 rubber on our stock rims? Or am i missing somthing here?

285 still isn't wide enough for the 55 series engines!

Your stock rims aren't wide enough for 285 wide rubber. Most of the 9.5" rims that Mercedes produces now are too low offset to work on the W211 with a tire wider than 265, the exception being the multispoke multipiece AMG wheel. CLS rims in general are also too low offset, usually being as low as or lower than the R230 SL.

On 9.5 wide rims, isn't the widest you can go 255?

Let me check with Tirerack real quick.

I just saw that the AT Italia Inox rims in a 20x9.5 configuration takes 295/40 tires.
Talk about streched.
