Got my beast back...
evo2+ with lowering links, polished intake plenums, CF engine and intake covers on the way, polished snorkels on the way too. the evo upg is pretty amazing. the sound from the headers and resonator delete under full throttle is deep and baratone. driving around is 90-95% stock sound. not going to dyno till i get some miles on the upgrade to make sure the upg is fully adapted so well see. but on a vacant stretch on my way home where i can get to 100 with no problem, the mark a used to hit is where i am now braking. traction is a problem (a fun one) though. bfg drag radials on the way. 7k for upg, 280 for polish, 3.5k for installation of everything and a few extras. a lot of $ but its one of a kind from others ive seen around here. pretty much done except engine dress up stuff.

Peter,
That is an awesome car you have there!!
Regarding the carbon fiber engine pieces and the polished snorkels.. Can you give me some info on where to get the carbon fiber pieces from? I have been looking but cant seem to find a source for them. As for the snorkels, I have been working with a local shop to try and fabricate some aluminum pipes for me to replace the plastic ones with.. Is that what you had done?
The shop I am dealing with is swamped and has been slow to work on this custom request. If you could pass along some info on that I would really appreciate it as I am trying to get rid of the heat soak from all the plastic parts and prefer the look of polished aluminum (as you do I can see).

i decided against the cls until they come out with the tt (hopefully) so i decided to keep my car for a couple more years. the lights are piaa 55w. they work better but i just prefer the look. cost was about $150 a pair but custom installation (they dont go off when the high brights are on) was @ $400. didnt want to use the brabus units because these are much cheaper and i just wanted to be different. i am working on the original grills with the dremel so i can put them back on with a wider opening. i was working on a do-it-yourself cf layover and the first try was only 50% good. i have 2 more sheets so if i fail i am sending the 3 cover pieces to a shop (www.muellercorp.com/chromeplatingplastic.htm) who can chrome plastic. if i do ill get a dull chrome, nickel type finish to match the polished plenums. i can get simple stainless muffler stock, have it mandrel bent than have the guy who polished my plenums polish those for the snorkels. stock 47's, 4" lip. thanks for the compliments all, appreciate it!

What are the exact sizes of rims and tires that you have there?

All I can say is WOW! The engine looks extra nice, and really an overall "show car". I really like the look of the fogs. I have to ask, what did they do with the mesh grill surround? Hard to tell with the glare from those bright lights

damn!, thank you, thank you, thank you all. i have the mesh grills out right now. working on larger cut outs with the dremel. had to mask off some slivers of silver paint and paint them flat black to make it look like these lights belong. without some framing done with the black it looked a little funny. wheels are 19x9 and 19x10 (i believe) the rear tires are 275, 30, 19. too f'ing cold to go check the fronts!

Alex and I are talking about going up to the track in March and would love for you to come and see how your car performs with the mods. I should have the AMG LSD installed my then but everything else will be stock.
