4 wheeled car.
To badge or to debadge?
I have debadged the car, but I hear people, current AMG and non AMG owner, say that now the car lookslike an E320 that has been debadged, thus losing some of the status that the E55 generates.
I'm kinda in between myself. I like the debadged look, but then again, I like to let people know what's up
I'm more into the debadged look however.
I wanted to hear from my fellow E55 owners, are you for, or against the E55 ///AMG debadging?

who the F cares what somebody else thinks...if you want to debadge then do that...
Personally I don't like any badging at all...and personally I extremely dislike badging-for-bragging-purpose...
The true engine capacity will come to light once you actually use it (and in your case that will be mostly on the straights
).

Psychological, aesthetics and personal preferences compel me to debadge.
Even on the m/cycle, with big bore work done, I kinda liked the idea of a
quiet smile in knowing that this sleeper could suprise the unsuspecting. Anyhoo,
bona fide bike cognoscenti could detect the subtle rumble of an engine on
steroids.
I think they're cleaner looking. Like a business card: the more labeling that
is on there, the more desperate you are in trying to impress. Like Churchill
said, labels are titles which weak minds hide behind. :-)
Personal choice, really.

Gotta disagree on this one Doc. If it's a 320 or a 430, sure why not. If it's really an AMG, you've arrived, wear the badge with pride.

2003 E55 AMG
I'm de-badging my beast as soon as the weather gets better up here.. All the side and rear markings except for the AMG logo are coming off (and after that, I might pull that off too depeding on how it looks)..
I don't like advertising what lurks within.. I would rather someone be completely shocked when they see the rear tail lights as you pull away from them...

2003 E55 & 2014 GL550
There's a guy on this forum (just saw the pic yesterday) with a massive 3 point star on front grill. Must be Euro. Looked incredible!! I agree that you should do whatever you want, it's your car and we all have different taste, but for me, gimme the biggest F'IN badge they sell.

2004 E55 tectite grey/charcoal
Personally I left the AMG and e55 on the back but I took off the V8 Kompressor badges-just seemed a little over the top and I like the looks of the sides better, much cleaner. I favor the speak softly and carry a big stick aproach.

ha! ha! im with jak, think that was my car by the way. its all personal i love badges, chrome, spoilers etc. its the individuality mb owners do to their car sets them apart from the ricers who do theirs. they all have coffe can exhausts yet ours are more tastefully done weather blacked out or full bling!
