I couldn't have put more than a 100 miles on the stock conti's when I switched them for the PS2's (BTW, anyone want to buy them LOL). My car has a little over a 11,000 miles on it. The tread on the PS2's look almost brand new. Just curious what everyone else is seeing and how they're wearing?

What are PS2,s Thanks I have the PZero Nero's on my car(CLK)-- Quiet when new- but don't handle as well as I expected-- What tires will you recommend for a 2002 Auti Quatro TT Convertable-- I will like to have very quiet tires based on the fact that the car is a convertable and more prone to road noise- Thanks in advance

Glad to hear it Adam, sounds like we're getting similiar results

When they do wear out I have another set of wheels with SO-3 on them from when I had my E500 (275 rears, though). I'll be curious to see how they compare. My memory of the SO-3's was is very positive. Wet/dry traction was excellent but the PS2's are definintely more quiet.

They wear better than expected. I've got 5,000 miles on them and 15,000 miles on them with my M3. They still look great and I drive it like I stole it.

I have 7000 miles on the front PS2 and they look like new. My wife's M3 PS2s have 22k and need to be replaced. I get about 20 to 24k out of Michelins that are soft compound rubber. They used to make a Z rated Vette tire that had a 40 treadwear rating and they were awesome and lasted forever but they quit making them.

I had GSD3's on the ole E500 ...loved um! Nice grip and smooth quiet ride....not sure how they would handle the torque monster.

I am running drag radials on the back for an experiment and I think I am gonna pull um and just go PS'2 all the way around. Just so weird having people telling me my tires are bald...."they are supposed to be that way darn it"....ugh.

I usually run around 41 front and 36 rear. I thought that setting helped handling quite a bit.

I don't know LOL. I remember speaking to Luke at tirerack when I got them and since I had 275's on the same wheels when I had my E500 I definitely asked first about 275. I don't remember what he said. Maybe they didn't have them in that size yet? I don't know. I think I was one of the earlier users here for that tire, and maybe Luke just wasn't sure if it would be good fit. No pun intended.

Maybe they don't have the extra load in 275??

I'm going to get the PS/2s based on what everyone is saying - But what about the PS vs. PS/2? Anyone have similar tread life with those?
I can't deal with the stock Conti's anymore.

Can't hurt to try. My conti's weren't on long enough to experiment with different pressures

I happen to reading the AMG owners forum and one of the members discussed the virtues of changing air pressures to affect handling. I decided to play with it to see how far I could push the envelope. I have finally settled on 41 lbs in the front and 34 in the rear (cold). Turn in is significantly better and I haven't noticed plow nearly as much. If I want max rear tire traction in the heat I drop the hot pressure to 34. I've also noted that my TPMS reads about 1 lb low.

I have 275 in the rear with no problems. 10k miles and still look very good. I expect I'll get over 20k.

If I recall, tirerack couldn't recommend the 275's because MB didn't test them.
