You were reading my mind...all the go fast looks and no go fast ooomph (relative to the 5.5 AMG)! It is sweet looking ride, though.

Speaking of looking AMG but NOT...I was driving south on I75 near tampa and I got passed by a white E320 CDI with AMG badging on the left side of the trunk lid...no AMG bodykit on the car or twin dual exhausts...just the AMG badge. Go figure.

Sorry but that AMG badge has to go. Unless you have an AMG then you cant have that badge. Even if you have a SL600, an S600,or a CL600 you cant have that AMG badge.

Some people are just straight pathetic. Who cares if an E500 owner puts an AMG, Brabus or whatever kit, it does not cost the same as a comparable aged E55. And how can quad exhaust look weird on a 500. Some of you need to get over yourselves. And by the way, the car looks just as good as any other E55 with a little less power.

There isn't anything wrong with putting the quad exhaust on any car for that matter but what I'm trying to say is that I'm not used to seeyin quad exhaust with an E500 badge. That is all. Geez...

That car is pretty nice though. My brother has an 04 E500 w/AMG kit. His car has the AMG badge rear right side as well (from the dealer). He planned to take it out but we figured since he ordered the vehicle with AMG appearance option, it wouldn't hurt to leave it on.

alright ill bite, i assume you meant i was pathetic since i mentioned price. he states factory amg (painted) kit, 7,000-10,000, 20" hre & tires 7,500, amg exhaust 2,500, lowered, 1,000, assorted lights, tint, filters, heat wrap 1,000. price of e500 to an e55 is approx 20,000-25,000. and props to the guy, the car does look good, its a nice car. except for the same price he has a stock suspension, stock brakes, stock exhaust front to mufflers, stock interior and 190 LESS hp. to me, flammer extraordianire, IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE.

ps. i wont respond to you anymore about this, i know what you are trying to do. but by all means contribute to the site, its a great place to share views and opinions.

In addition, I hope the owner enjoys the heck out of his/her car, because all those mods and AMG badging won't help the resale value of the car...all the dealer will give him/her is money on a well maintained E500.

Basically, he won't recoup any of those aesthetic mods at the time of resale...but we all know that. I'm not hating his game...it looks good and its his/her money. I just think he/she could've spent their money better. That's my opinion, which does not mean much in real world, but is fun to put in a forum like this...peace.

The only reason why I'm ok with the ///AMG badge on this car is because he still kept the E500. Had he badged it E55, on the other hand, it would be another story. I understand that many people maintain that it is rediculous for one to care if someone else badges their car E55 but this bugs me for two reasons. You guys worked hard to earn your cars...do you want some guy just badging his car E55 too? This argument, however, can be refuted with the fact that anyone who would appreciate the fact that it is an E55 would most likely be able to differentiate an authentic AMG from a fake. Either way, I feel that it is a cop-out. This guy/gal has an E500 and is proud of it - thus, the E500 badging. The AMG I can respect for two reasons: It does, in fact, have an AMG body kit, and the application of the AMG badge is understandable because it is to indicate that the bodywork was done by AMG and not the whole car. If that is what the owner was trying to say, he/she would add the E55 and V8 Kompressor badges also. I saw a guy in an E320 badged E55 with no exhaust or body kit/rims/other badging/etc. I pulled up next to him and he looked at me at first like he was the *****, and then realized how much of an idiot he appeared to be when he saw my car. People who badge their cars as something else are only recognized as fakes by the true owners and are not even acknowledged by the average person (by this I mean non-owners, not to say average people can't own E55's). So I say, why do it in the first place?

I also encountered with a wannabe E55 in Orange County. We were at this coffee shop and saw a weird looking E55 with dual exhaust (not quad tips). The wheels weren't AMG, more like a E320 or 500, not even an AMG body kit. My cousin was fooled because he saw the E55 badge along with AMG on the right side but not my brother and I. We took it to the next step and sent my other cousin over to talk to this idiot to see how he would react. My cuz pretended he didn't know much about an E55 and asked him a bunch of questions. The idiot was B.Sing his *** off, he said "this is one of a kind E55" lol, damn right. He never popped the hood and there was no AMG logo on the seats either. What a phony, thought I'd share it w/you guys. I have a digital camera in the glove compartment incase next time I run into something wack like this.

You got it right bud, They should be passing out AMG and E55 logo kits like candy. I think it would be fine to see one on a Neon -- after all it's part of the same big happy family as well. ... and pass me some of what your smoking please.

I wouldn't go so far as saying it is a disgrace, but it would be embarassing if the owner was touting it as a 55. Some people need that self promotion...all you have to know is you got the ***** to back up the E55/AMG badge !

Sillyent...everytime I look at your E55 pic it makes me crave another AMG in Capri blue...damn you !

If he puts that on his E500, you wouldn't have known it was an E500 when you meet him on the road

I was fooled once when I thought there was a VERY GOOD LOOKING E55 next to me.... but when I looked inside, no "AMG" badge on the seats. I could've asked the owner to race (hopefully, he just did not intentionally take off the AMG badge from the seat ) ... but I was too hungry at that time

I guess the owner just wanted to feel some heat from the real AMG

Well they say the w211 E500 handles better than the w211 E55.Imagine if it was supercharged. Then He can also badge it AMG Kompressor E50!

'04 E55 AMG
Wow, that looks really damn good...except for the AMG badge. Every day I see non-AMG wearing the AMG badge, when all they have is AMG wheels. Hell, I've seen non-AMG MB's on dealer lots wearing the AMG badge. What took the cake was this: about two weeks ago I was at Costco in NMB, and as I'm leaving I see a black S-class coming my way. From the front it looks like an S55 because it has the aggressive S55 body kit; from the side it's all AMG, to include the "V8 Kompressor" logo (albeit affixed to the car at an angle which doesn't look "right" somehow"); and as it passes I take a look at the rear: sho'nuff, it's S55 on the left, AMG on the right...with single chrome bolt-on exhaust tips (the ones that aren't even real exhaust tips, because the pipes vent out a hole in the bottom) sticking out from beneath a stock S500 rear valance. I was thinking, "WTF?!? You spend all that money to build a fake, then don't finish it by putting real dual/duals and an AMG rear valance??!!??" What's the point? Well, maybe I saw the car before he had a chance to finish it. Maybe that weekend he was planning to take it in to the dealership and say "hey, can we finish my S55 clone now??"
