I wish Daimler would make it clear as to what options are available in ROW and NA.
Did you get the P34 package? It appears you have the alcantara wheel but with the E550 leather and not the Nappa leather(?) The P34 option (at least in the ROW) comes with Nappa. Plus in the ROW, there's supposedly stitching on the dash (it's also leather.)
Daimler is de-contenting lots of stuff and making them options, but it seems to be dependent on which geographic market. The NA market seems to be the most de-contented.
Anyway, congrats and enjoy the car.

Right now i have valentine 1 installed and am waiting for the smoked side markers to arrive. I don't think i'll be modding anything else in the near future, maybe except for video in motion kit. I'm very happy with the car as it is now minus the amber markers. The E offered pretty much everything i wanted to have in my c55: nav, iphone connection, cf dash, digital climate control, sexy rims and TONS of POWER! (yes i can be satisfied easily lol)
what does the p34 option add to the car? As for the leather, i'm guessing its not Nappa. If it was my sales would probably mention it to me. It doesnt even say nappa anywhere in canadian specs.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
By pushing the AMG button you select your favorite transmission/suspension and ESP setting.
Mine is set at sport+ for tranny, firmest for suspension and sport for ESP.

I would also be curious to know how the limited slip differential that comes with the Performance Package gets power to the ground compared to the standard car. The standard car's ESC (Electronic Stability Control) mimics a limited slip by limiting drive wheel slip under acceleration.
I would like to know if there is a significant performance advantage for these 2 features that are a part of that package. It might be fun to do some side by side testing with another E63 in your area that does not have these features. You could see how the cars accelerate in poor traction compared to each other. You could also compare ride quality. I would volunteer, but I am not even close.

Hmm I've never thought about the difference between pp. suspension vs. non pp. They had one without it in dealer when I was purchasing the car, but it was sitting in the showroom but i didn't think too much about the suspension part, so I'm not sure if its any more comfortable without. However the suspension of pp.E63 feels a lot better than my previous C55 (for your reference it was on 19" and H&R lowering spring.. not the most comforatble set up for a W203)
You still feel the small bumps on the road, but the rears absort the vibration nicely on C setting. With S+ on suspension setting it's alot closer to the C55, but you can still feel the air filtering the shock
As of LSD vs. ESP. Funny you mentioned it, because I was just crusing down the street today @around 70km/h (at the end of 2 hrs highway "higher speed" driving) and realized I need to make a right turn. I braked and was in a very comfortable speed (probably less than 30km/h, love the larger brakes!) to make the turn. As I was coming out of the corner I stepped on the gas a bit, and I felt something ticking slightly from the rear, but I wasnt losing any grip at all. It felt alot different from how ESP kick in, so I thought it was probably the LSD. I'm not sure though, since this is the first car I drove with LSD equiped. If it was the LSD it definitily helped speeding out of a corner. If ESP kicked in instead of LSD the car definitily wouldn't accelerate like how it did.

May I ask a question about the transmission? If, say, you are at a red light, can you put the car into neutral by clicking down past 1st gear? And when you put it in 1st gear, does it begin to roll by itself like an auto box or do you have to press the gas for movement. Thanks!
Great car by the way. My favorite AMG so far and I havent even driven it yet!

The only way to shift to neutral is by tapping the shift knob forward. I'm not sure if its ok or not, but I sometimes shift to neutral when rolling to a stop to get rid of the downshift jerking from 2nd to 1st.
And I think it does roll a little bit in 1st.

Yes it has the performance package, and yes the button does indeed make life a bit easier, especially when everything is turned back to comfort mode whenever you start the engine. I wonder why MB made this change.. in my C55 it always return to the last selected mode.

What is unique about the transmission when at a red light is the HOLD feature. You just press once hard on the brake, the HOLD light comes on, and you can take your foot off the brake. When you are ready to go, just step on the gas. Its even better than neutral because the car will not roll, even if on a hill.

I have an appointment for detailing tomorrow.. will *try* take some better pictures and edit my sig / avatar
*I'm kinda retarded in photography tho. What settings should I use on a digital camera to take better photos on a black car in cloudy day?
As RWC55 said, it does not go into neutral by if you click past first. This is a good thing because it would be so easy to do on accident.
