First I'll see how the original grille looks with the flat AMG badg.

Going forward...
With the purchase of either a WHITE STAR Flat Badge or an AMG Flat Badge, and I will throw in the chromed upright tristar that is removed from the OEM Mercedes upright hood ornament in order to make your Flat badge.
Use this star in several ways. Below are some ideas...

Have you ever considered painting the AMG background blue (like perimiter), or White (like Star Badge) so the AMG letters stand out more?
If you can do that, I'll buy another one.

I leave them in chrome so that owners can paint them any color they want. Not hard to do, but harder to maintain. So my badges come in a durable chrome background.

From time to time, I've gotten requests for WHITE STAR Flat Badges or AMG Flat Badges with the blue laurel wreath done in black, mostly from people with black cars.
In addition, there are some with the newer sedans sporting the blue badge in the upper grille (like the W212) who prefer to avoid the "double badge look."
While changing the color on badge inserts already made is not in the cards, I thought this all chrome style might work, instead as a third option among my custom flat badges.
So, what do you think?
The core of this badge is made from an S-Class part (#221-880-0086), not the blue laurel wreath cores from the W210 E-Class part (#210-880-0186). So the S-Class part will cost $10 more to buy from the dealer, which means the finished badge will cost $10 more than my previous work. So keep that in mind.

To clarify, I call these "Chrome Badges" because they look like chrome. However, truth be known, the mirror-like finish is a highly polished Aluminum, cast as part of the entire core mount of the original upright star.
All three style badges are available.

These Polished badges are a custom-order, side business, made only when requested. In contrast, my other badges remain available, and I carry stock of these at all times...

People still ask me for the White Star Flat Badge with the deeper relief background in the tristar insert.
Everyone should be assured that I sell ONLY this deeper style, the "Current Production" example shown in the picture below... I ran out of the "Original," flatter tristar inserts years ago.

Here are a few pictures showing how my badges sit within the hood divot, flush with the top of the hood. Compare these with the OEM, 2-1/2" SLK badge that sits on top of the hood...

Um, I make these in the Dallas TX, area, from Genuine German Mercedes Parts... And I'm not Chinese, not that that would be a bad thing.
As for custom... well, I'm the only one on the planet who makes these particular badges, and there are less than 540 WHITE STARs and less than 90 AMG Badges circulating worldwide.
