New hood on 2011 model
Guys,
I can't believe it, it must be joke, but I saw a 2011 E63 imported from Germany and it has a different hood (with two bulges like the SLK). Then I found this photo that suggests that is how they will be shipping them. It has only been out 1 year and they are already making changes. WTF?

I'm pretty sure the picture you posted is a magazine render before the E63 was even out.

Interesting. That pic is super old as like has been said.
I guess I wouldn't be surprised though, IMO there isn't enough (aesthetically) separating the 212 E63 from the E350's, which come with AMG Packs as standard.
On the flip side, would suck if M-B did a minor facelift in the second year of Production, to partially date the first year cars.

Yes, the picture the OP posted was a rendering from over two years ago, and I saw it online a few times. The reason they predicted the hood would be that way was because that's exactly how the hood looks like on the C63 which was out at the time. The person doing the rendering probably borrowed a picture of a hood from a C63 to make life easier. I doubt Mercedes would make a change that fast to a car. Europe market is usually one year ahead of us though, so if it came out in Europe as a 2011, it may not come here until 2012 or maybe not even until the twin turbo version hits the market
