AMG Settings Question
AMG Settings Question
Hello all,
1. Can you pre adjust the AMG settings (gear / suspension settings / ESC etc.), like in the BMW M mode?
2. Once I pressed the AMG button, how do you cancel this mode and return to normal mode while driving ??

set all you setting to just the way you like them. hold down the amg button and once you hear the beep your settings are in the memory.
as for returning to regular mode, i have been turning the dial back manually.

Thanks for your help!!
Although regarding the 2nd part of my Q, turning back the dials doesn't set back all settings, the AMG mode display on the center consul does not return to normal mode..

Yes you cant just press the AMG button again to return to the OG or non AMG settings unlike the M button in the Bimmers... no biggie for me as I never change it anyways.
I also have to go one step further for ESC Sport!!!

Follow on question: Is there a launch control mode (i.e. RS)? If so, how is it engaged? Also, I notice that my car came with an E350 and E550 owner's manual which is missing all the AMG 63 specific info (transmission and specs). What do you guys have? Same manual or AMG 63 specific ones?
Thanks!

Also, unlike the BMW "M button", the AMG button will not save your settings of ESC on sport or off mode which I find quite frustrating because I prefer to drive with it off all the time. It will save your transmission and suspension settings however.

My last C63 manual had that type of info at least....
What is your E63 Manual Print Dates?
Title explains it all. Trying to figure out what everyone else's manual print date is. My dealer is telling me the E350 / E550 manual is the only one available for my E63. My manual was printed well before the E63 was produced so I think he is full of sh*t...typical dealership employee!
MCC - I posted this in the RACE START thread but here it is again. There is no single button to push to get into RS....it probably a safety thing. Good luck:
RS mode is not that complicated to get into but rather its tricky to set up. What i mean by that is, there are a bunch of safety parameters i think the computer needs to satisfy before it will allow the car switch to RS. I imagine a bunch of owners have been turning that dial to the right and becoming frustrated at not being able to get it into RS mode on demand.
Well, this is not scientific evidence, but anecdotal from what i've tried.
1. ESC has to be off (yes, no traction control....which seems counter intuitive since its trying to launch with no wheel spin. go figure....)
2. There cannot be a car or anything that the computer thinks is a car or obstacle in front of you. You have to have a clear path in front.
3. Steering wheel has to be straight....i've found that this is actually more touchy than you think. For me, a slight twist to the left or right off of center locks you out of RS....for me it was that sensitive.
4. It can't be raining. I think the rain sensors shut you out of RS as well.
5. Foot needs to be on the brakes...guess that's obvious
if you got all those things, then its pretty simple to engage. Left foot brake, turn clockwise to RS, click on the right paddle shifter to confirm. Hit the gas to 4000 rpm and let go of the brake and you should launch.
Hope this helps some of you out there who may have been as confused as i was in trying to get into RS mode.
