I'm sure my car will gain more HP over the next 5k miles.
I'm just happy to be able to drive these cars on a daily basis

Anyways he was interested what kind of numbers my car would output so we did 3 dyno runs before the insallation of the exhaust and 3 runs after the installation. They took their time installing the exhaust and after the installation the owner showed me how to launch my car at the track. After that we let the car cool off a bit and went for the dyno runs. Before the installation the car recieved 416 418 and 421 DRUMROLL ...... 438, 441 , 438 Which are amazing numbers for a section 3! We then went ahead and double checked the engine temparture and it showed everything was just about the same during the runs. I'll scan a copy of the dyno. I'm having my Scoops shipped to me in a few days so I'll keep you guys updated what it dyno'd after the scoops were installed. Overall I am extremely happy with the exhaust note and seems to be a perfect match for my life style. Not to loud but not quite by any means either. I'm not sure if I feel the extra power or its just the sound which makes it feel faster

I brought the car back to stock before returning the lease. The race between m5 vs e63 was stock for stock. I would have specified otherwise, if I still had those minor mods.

I understand those bolt on mods are considerably minor but the RPI scoops have been known to make 12-15whp at speed and then add on top of that your exhaust which netted another 20whp on your dyno pulls. However, once you post the video it should be easy to tell if you have stock or the RPI exhaust. I don't doubt the E63 could lose a high speed run versus an M5, but I expected it to be a little closer.

Guys, what's wrong with you?? what's so hard to understand, he is not trying to insult anyone, he's just stating the facts.. the BMW's are stock to stock faster, or at least feels much faster, more agile, and far more connected with the driver, I had an E60 M5, and I currently own an M6 & and a new E63, I think I have a much clearer picture and un-biased opinion than most members that respond here and try to bash 'Mockbam5', yes the benz is more comfortable and a better daily driver, and that is why I got mine.

I'm not sure what people don't understand, I took the exhaust off the car that same day. I even have the receipt from the shop to prove it, plus I can take a picture of the exhausts laying in my garage. Take as you want it, the M5 is faster from a roll. I love my E63 and recieve more compliments from girls rather than guys lol.

Why don't we just have another 'mexico run' with a completely stock m5 vs E63? I have both but my m5 is not stock
I have a headrest camera mount for my D90 DSLR so i can shoot it in HD.

Even if the M5 was stock, it doesn’t really matter because the E63 has only 2,000 miles on it.. The car is not even broken in yet.. The M5 is an 06 with plenty of miles. Its not a fair race modded or not.

Im fully confident that a stock M5 will beat a stock W212 up top (not by a ton)- I owned an M6 and know its gearings and parasitic loss well. Now this is all being done on 3 honks and a relatively fair race in safe conditions. In the real world its more determinant on who jumps first cause the performance is really close. Our 7 speeds narrow the gap from the older 55 trannys but the MCT is not a true auto manual IMHO.
After the roll race is done, we need a dig race too.

i agree, the m5 will eventually take the E63 on high speed runs. However, it would be interesting to see how we will fare against a M5 from the dig to speeds in excess of 120mph.

Both cars are great. They just have totally different engine characteristics. I wish my BS would have a sequential gearbox, as I really like the SMG.

As usual, uncle Vic knows what he's talking about
. In a real world street race, it makes a huge difference who's got the jump. Providing you're in the right gear, especially important in the M5/M6 as you have to be around 5500 RPM, being just a fraction late on the throttle that's the guy who's going to loose. You also have to be prepared, as you have to be in S6 with TC off. A friend of mine also owns a CLK63 BS, and from a roll, my M6 has a slight edge. From a dig, my BS would eat an M5/M6 alive if started from a light up to real world city speeds. By the time the M comes alive, it's time to brake for the next light.
Both cars are great. They just have totally different engine characteristics. I wish my BS would have a sequential gearbox, as I really like the SMG.

The S85 engine and the SMG is a premeditated beast; you have to be thinking and ready at all times or you will be caught out of gear and 1-2 seconds is all an AMG needs if that. I have always beleived that AMG's are lazy man speeders who just want to mash and go. The BMW with the SMG is the 8/10ths or better car, meaning you got be on it 80% or more to really enjoy the high reving v10 screamer.
I wish AMG's had the true auto manual: DCT.

Just playing with you Vic. No disrespect from me.......because I love you man ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Like you, I can live with an auto gearbox. But there is no substitute for an automated manual gearbox. The speed in which the shifts occur are just on a different level!

I love the DCT in the GTR and M3-- yes you take out the third pedal and real true driving but Im f'in lazy. The OC traffic just bites too.

I do believe the SLS gets the real deal auto manual tranny right?

Yes, the SLS has it. I believe within 5 years true manuals and auto's are gone. Looks like FI is the future also, so the replacement for my M6 will most likely be blown. I will kind of miss a high revving engine, because to me, there is nothing better than the throttle response and sound of a NA engine.

Tell me about. LA traffic is not much better. Unless you consider it an exercise, clutch in, clutch out and shifting 5000 times form first to second becomes old quite quickly. Ever since my E46 M3, I love that kind of gearbox.

E63 AMG 2010, Black, Pano, P2
I used to own E63 AMG 2008 and raced many M5s from the dig, roll or whatever all the way to the speed limiter (155) and in my experience it was always a close race, but none of these races did the M5 walk away or even pull on me at any speed.
On one of the occasions we took our cars to an airfield on LI and raced many times and every single time it was a close race. So I would disagree that M5 will pull on E63 from any speed.
Now I own E63 2010 and I know based on my races with a buddy of mine with a C63 that my E63 2010 > E63 2008. So based on that I would conclude that stock for stock a nicely broken in E63 > M5 (both stock). Keep in mind that my E63 had only 2000 miles and it was still faster than my older broken in E63 2008.
Of course there are many variables to consider but overall I think given similar varables and conditions E63 W212 > M5, and I ran many different M5's stock and modded.
