I got nearly the same results from Gintani/OE Tuning on my W212 E63 a just over a week ago. The gains are very apparent as soon as you give it some throttle, wheel spin is much easier to achieve now (w/o LSD) and its even possible to override the E diff/ignition cut issue with the added power/torque since both wheels are spinning when its sideways.

Here's my dyno:

Nice. I am thinking of getting my BMW tuned by OETuning. I am glad I read that thread on that other company power-something and it sucks they damaged that guys ECU board and forgot to put the screws in. I'm very **** retentive (as I'm sure a lot of you are) and I could never stand for that kind of work! Props on the tune OP!

The added power and torque is very nice, and like I said it is able to break both wheels loose now like never before with a good stab of the throttle. I'm not a mechanic but I think since both wheels are rear wheels are spinning close to the same speed it doesn't upset the E diff and makes it possible now to powerslide the car. I haven't had much time to drive it since I got the tune but these are my impressions so far. I also found out there is a LSD available from AMG that is plug and play so I'm thinking of doing that with headers and x pipe soon. I'm hoping then it will become a real grocery getting beast.

To answer your question, yes I am liking my car more, and I'm stuck with it so I'm gonna do what I can to enjoy as much as I can. The nav still sucks though

LSD from AMG? Really? Please share more details.

And yes, if you get the LT headers, I think I speak for everyone, when I say, please share as well when or if you do.

I nominate racer m to be the LT header test mule

The LSD is available on the Performance Package too so Im sure you can find a way to buy the part if you like. I had the AMG LSD on my W211 E55.

Thumbs up

My E63 W212 just got tuned yesterday as well at TTmotorsports. I took my car out to Ocean Pkwy (Jone Beach) and did some runs. Results are very, very noticeable, espeically past 4500RPM the car pulls like a train all the way through, especially up top. The exhaust note changed slightly, not sure why. Jeremy told me about it, but I was not quite sure what he did to change it, it is not better or worse it is just different. I gotta ask him about it.

So overall I am very happy with the mod. Jeremy and Bruce were very helpful and full of information. Very cool guys. In addition to the ECU, I had Bruce's airbox mod, charcoal delete and K&N filters.

So far, no warning lights, no overheating, no problems and I ran close to 250 aggressive miles since yesterday. One thing to note is it is much more difficult to get traction especially with ESC SPORT with 1/2 gear change, tires just get loose and ESP kicks in, where is previously I had no problems. Maybe it is time for me to get fatter sticker tires.

Albert,

you forgot to mention that you met ME!!! Jeez, that was the most important part.

The dyno is painful, but given the way this thing reads, I am VERY happy with my gains as well. I went after you, and it only got hotter. I looked it up, and yep: Record Heat on that day (106 F)... You car looks great VIC!

Im not cool enough to have a digital copy of the dyno sheet. (You may notice a *little* heat soak....)

Geez guys, I can't get a response out of OE Tuning for the life of me. they responded once to my request form i filled out online, but after that made 2 calls and 2 emails, which I have not heard back from AT ALL! I even told them in my email and voicemail, please respond, I'm ready to do the tune ASAP.

Am I missing something here or what magic word do I have to tell them?

Jeremy is on the East Coast for 2 weeks. If you tried recently, thats why. They are also getting ready to move into a new shop, so I think things are a little hectic. I believe Jeremy gets back nect Monday... You may want to try then. I think it is worth it

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...13th-14th.html

maybe one more week based on that thread...

Thank! :-) I see! I'll sit tight and continue waiting patiently.

Sometimes it's hard, once you've finally decided to take the dive, waiting suddenly becomes unfathomable. :-)

Waiting is almost impossible.. I know. I waited 6 weeks (i needed to get my mods on) and I was going CRAZY... Every day pacing the floor, looking at watch, cold water on the face. Then FINALLY, I got it done. Now, I am back to square one (need a few more mods).. I need to go pace now...

Vic, what's your impression of the gearbox? Is it more responsive than the 7G auto, or is that what it is still? I read conflicting things about what the W212 was going to house and since I wasn't in the market didn't figure out what they finally went with. I did read they could have done better but would like your impressions.

Great thread, guys. I'm also thinking of giving Jeremy a call when he gets back to CA.

Quick question: What is the AFR for a stock E63? And what is the AFR with the OE tune?

great question. i should have asked. I actually asked instead for the tune what aspects it affected, A/F ratio, ignition timing, shift points, etc.

Seems like they only play around with ignition and AF ratio. which is good, because I would hate to loose my drive-ability.

I agree, driveability is the most important thing for a tune. Power is great, but when there are little hiccups in the tune, especially low-speed driveability, it just ruins the experience.

Any updates on the AFR questions?

racer M, are you stock? If so, this provides some insight into the heat issues we experienced on 9/4. Your graphs look identical, except your starting and ending numbers are 35hp / 41hp better - stock and tuned. I would like to see VICs car on the dyno on a decent day. I would expect his would look like this as well.
