AMG driving event today in Irvine...
Attended the AMG driving event today. Lots of fun with the cars. I felt the C-63 with the P-31 option was the fastest of the bunch. Nice ride along instructors with the test drives. Very helpful people...
The best I could do was 100 mph in the straightaway
I hope others were able to attend.

Yes very fun day. Braked too early in the C only got 90something. Although did get the SL to 100 on the straightaway
This may be blasphemy but does anyone know if BMW holds M versions of this type of event?

To experience the M cars your best bet is the M School they offer in SC.

I attended a BMW M power event in Chicago on Sat. at a racetrack in Joliet. They had M3's for us to drive around the track. We had to wear helmets and weren't allowed to pass on the track. It was fun but pretty lame, we only had about 30min on the track before the next group came in. They had us in groups of 3 following a X5M as the 'pace' car. I couldn't believe how fast the X5m went around the track, I could barely keep up. I hit approx 90mph on the straights.

Funny thing I got something in my inbox from BMW today about their M Power Tour for the North East. Here is the info:
Date: 10/23/2010 – 10/24/2010
Time: Saturday 9:00am - 4:30pm
Sunday 9:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Vanderbilt Museum
180 Little Neck Road
Centerport, NY 11721

Not sure how to get you an invitation code. I'd share mine but it has all my personal data associated with it. You could try to give BMW N/A a call and see if you could get one of your own.

AMG Tour Event in Irvine
I attend on the very first day and thought it was great!
Don't recall how fast i went on the straight but it's pretty fast. I agree that the C63 was the faster than the E63 and SL63 (at least for me). It also felt a lot more tossable on the course.
The only thing that annoyed me were the instructors. I know they're there to guide us
in getting through the course but i wasn't able to concentrate on my driving. It's almost like having your wife tell you how to drive. LOL!

My overall experience was great though. Hopefully they do it again next year.

I'm assuming this question is directed to me?
If so here is my answer. Yes faster in terms of going around the course just because it felt more tossable. I think the C63 weighs in around 3400lbs and change while the E63 is around 3900lbs and change.
C63 just felt more nimble. E63 more of a luxo cruiser.
