I had pano in my white E55 and loved the look but hasted the creaking and moaning. One reason I got a W212 with sunroof only.

It happens with chassis flex and it does happen EVERY time. The more the flex the louder the crackling noise. I even wait for it when going sideways into an unleveled driveway ....sometimes the noise is so loud it feels like it is going to brake. I wish MB would at least notify customers of the issue since they cannot fix it indefinitely. I am sure they know of the problem and opted not to acknowledge it.

My 2013 E63 has a pano roof. Never again. It looks great, but when it does creak, it freaks out anyone in the car. I can't believe that a $120K car makes these noises.
This will be another car that goes back at the end of the lease.

i got that huge noise and I thought it came from the rear sun-shade....
Now I think it may be came from the pano roof.....
But I only have that noise when the sunshade is up....
How can I know? Its a big pop kind of sound.
The GL does not have any cracking noise though.

See what we've been telling you folks. I ain't gettin' it until the technology is there to fuse metal with glass, which will be as resilient and light as sheet metal--likely not in my lifetime.

My 2014 e63s has the same noise. Scared the crap out do me the first time (@300 miles). I thought the girl behind me bumped me as I pulled onto a ramp in a parking lot. It hasn't happened again. Annoying but I can live with it. My car is white and looks great with the pano roof.

The noise is getting worst.
No longer just pop going through big tweaks.
Now is non-stopping "EEEK!"
When the road go a little bit uneven, EEEEEEEEK...EEK....EEEKEEEK....

I have a 2012 C63 that is still under warranty for another ~800 milles with a creaking roof noise from the passenger side. I'll ask my local AMG Center if they will install the $300 padding kit under warranty coverage.

My E63 is about 8 months old and I have the panoramic sunroof. Lately, when I have been getting chassis flex (entering driveways with substantial steering angle, negotiating large speed bumps) I have heard a loud popping noise which seems to be coming from the moon roof, C pillar area. It is somewhat startling as sometimes it sounds as if the glass is about to break! I haven't taken it to the dealer yet, as I would have to drive around with a technician looking for driveways or speed bumps to demonstrate the issue. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem or heard of it? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

I inquired about the padding kit for the pano roof at the Bethesda MD AMG Performance Service Center's parts department. They did not find any such kit in their catalog for the C63. No one there seems to knows anything about this kit either.
Does anyone have a part number for this padding kit I can give to my dealership or the phone number of the dealership you got yours from?

I've never heard of any padding kit. My pano roof made all sorts of horrible sounds. The dealer removed it and re-installed it. So far (it's only been a couple months), it has worked and is completely silent.

I just had mine tightened at the dealer due to the same sort of popping sound when you go up an incline. Essentially they removed the headliner and tightened all the bolts. It is all day long project given the amount of labor. This is a very common issue with these roofs. I opted for one against my better judgment due to resale value concerns and the fact that it's just really nice to have.
