Guide to diagnose trouble and recommended solutions
Slight creak/squeak when turning at slow speed
On another note, my rep just called me. STRUTS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE, TECH IS TRYING TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM.
MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR TWO WEEKS THIS TIME, LAST TIME IT WAS THERE FOR 1 WEEK ..... WHAT CAN I DO?

My service advisor said that MBUSA instructed them to replace struts to bring it to the same "level". I am assuming they have updated struts for our cars and wont do anything unless the car is updated to the latest spec. If not resolved, they would be looking at other suspension components. The tech mentioned replacing control arms next.

Guys - How loud is the sound in your cars? Mine's audible only when you really listen for it and the radio and heater fan is off and funny enough, its more audible after I've been driving around for a bit rather than just after start up. Curious to know.
Thanks

"we only hear a slight sound when the car is cold but then it goes away, its not that bad so do you want the car back?"
At this point of time i flippppppppppppppped out. Its almost a 100k vehicle, i waited 30 days for parts, i drove a c class loaner for over 45 days in total and now they said take it back its not so bad. Im giving them till friday and then im calling corporate.
Oh FYI the shop foreman called amg and mbusa and they advised him that this problem has not been reported to anyone yet!!!

Did you mean "reported by anyone yet"? Maybe we are having different problems?
I will be going back to check later today. Will post an update.
I dont getit, they can't figure out what is clicking? Did you ask them about the control arms? My tech thinks that if the clicking does not go away they would have to change the control arms.

I'll update when I hear from my service advisor tomorrow...
steering wheel creaking noise-- has one of those as well... seems a cold - weather related. my sa mentioned the bushing - kit in the steering wheel as a possible culprit.
i'm due for my "a'' sevice soon and will tackle all of these isssues in one visit. i get the jitters when away from my e63 for too
long........
Unless you're paying for some non warranty repairs, they usually don't discovery any issues.
Good luck and keep us posted.
On the other hand, I'm not sure if that's true since all MB dealerships in the US (except one in NYC) are privately owned. Hence service dept still get paid when they submit warranty-related repairs to MB for payment. Thus it's in their interest to find things to repair.
It's the Strut Tops and Bearings that get replaced.
I wonder if others really got the entire strut changed or just the strut tops.
There is a buletin on it and it lists all the parts that need to be changed.
