VIC, just confirmed alignment on our car does require front end bumper removal, but i geuss depending on severity you can just adjust underneath.
On another note, my rep just called me. STRUTS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE, TECH IS TRYING TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM.
MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR TWO WEEKS THIS TIME, LAST TIME IT WAS THERE FOR 1 WEEK ..... WHAT CAN I DO?

My service advisor said that MBUSA instructed them to replace struts to bring it to the same "level". I am assuming they have updated struts for our cars and wont do anything unless the car is updated to the latest spec. If not resolved, they would be looking at other suspension components. The tech mentioned replacing control arms next.

Why 2 weeks? Did it take them 2 weeks to replace the struts? My car is in the shop now for the same problem. Lets see what they come up with.

Guys - How loud is the sound in your cars? Mine's audible only when you really listen for it and the radio and heater fan is off and funny enough, its more audible after I've been driving around for a bit rather than just after start up. Curious to know.
Thanks

Not loud at all in my case. I really have to listen and turn everything off. No biggy. But the dealer recommended to fix it. I guess they get paid commission on all the warranty work.

UPDATE: 2 weeks in the shop, Ball joints replaced, Struts replaced........Stilll clicking. My car is in for the fourth time in 6 months and all i get from my SA is:
"we only hear a slight sound when the car is cold but then it goes away, its not that bad so do you want the car back?"
At this point of time i flippppppppppppppped out. Its almost a 100k vehicle, i waited 30 days for parts, i drove a c class loaner for over 45 days in total and now they said take it back its not so bad. Im giving them till friday and then im calling corporate.
Oh FYI the shop foreman called amg and mbusa and they advised him that this problem has not been reported to anyone yet!!!

Did you mean "reported by anyone yet"? Maybe we are having different problems?
I will be going back to check later today. Will post an update.
I dont getit, they can't figure out what is clicking? Did you ask them about the control arms? My tech thinks that if the clicking does not go away they would have to change the control arms.

Hey, that sucks. I just got a call from my dealer and they just replaced the struts and saying the problem went away. I have to go and check.

Well, got the car back today after being 2 days in the shop and it seems like the problem is fixed. The dealer replaced both front struts, that is all. So far no creaks or sounds when turning the wheels.

Just dropped mine off for an oil change and the same clicking in the front wheels. I also have a squeak coming from the rear deck where the sunshade comes out. It's like a plastic on plastic squeak that I hear when on a rough road or when I go over a speed bump.
I'll update when I hear from my service advisor tomorrow...

05lsv--- my 2010 has the same plastic- on- plastic creaking noise that gets worst when on a rough road.... have not been able to pin- ponit it yet for the dealership to repair. i'll keep you posted if /when i do.
steering wheel creaking noise-- has one of those as well... seems a cold - weather related. my sa mentioned the bushing - kit in the steering wheel as a possible culprit.
i'm due for my "a'' sevice soon and will tackle all of these isssues in one visit. i get the jitters when away from my e63 for too long........

Same issue here
This happens mostly in the mornings. I took it to the dealer and they claimed they could not duplicate. They wanted to keep the car over night. I agreed and they claimed they could not find or hear anything unusual.
Unless you're paying for some non warranty repairs, they usually don't discovery any issues.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Interesting way to look at things! On the other hand, I'm not sure if that's true since all MB dealerships in the US (except one in NYC) are privately owned. Hence service dept still get paid when they submit warranty-related repairs to MB for payment. Thus it's in their interest to find things to repair.

I had this creaking noise on my car.
It's the Strut Tops and Bearings that get replaced.
I wonder if others really got the entire strut changed or just the strut tops.
There is a buletin on it and it lists all the parts that need to be changed.
