Cargraphic LTH on E63 (full cats removal)

Hello guys,

I was thinking of fitting Cargraphic's LTH on my w212 E63. Here are some pictures and a link to the headers:

http://www.cargraphic.de/index.php?/...218,5078,5595/

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with LTH's on an w212 E63. You can get those either WITH the catalytic convertors, or without. I am obviously hoping to get the ones without any cats (both primary and secondary get deleted).

I have been to the garage I usually deal with and they had just installed one on an E63 today, the sound was phenomenal! Although the low pitched burble is kind of gone, its a much louder sportier rasp. You can see the video on the link provided above, its a litter deeper and gruntier on the E63 than that but pretty similiar. For some reason it is louder on C63's than it is on E63's, maybe because of the resonator or the mufflers? Another thing I did notice though, is that the exhaust tips seem to stretch a fair bit out after driving the car hard. Apparently its because the stainless steel expands with heat, and it then fits right back in when it cools down.

Apparently the car gained +35whp on the dyno after the headers, before any ECU tuning was done. The garage has just tuned the car and is about to get the new dyno results after the tune now.

Any thoughts on the matter fellas?

in my view there is not need to install LTH. You get the same gains by simply primary/secondary cat delete with stock headers.

Really? I thought LTH's always provided way more hp/tq than normal headers.

Anyway, final Dyno result was 420 whp (on a Dyno Dynamics) after the ECU tuning. Comes up to about 580 hp on the engine.

Here is a video showing the car accelerate from 60-320 km/h... I think the sound is AWESOME and it looks like it pulls really hard up to 260.

Your link leads to C63 headers---- Does CG actually make them for the W212E63?

Nope, they are only 'made' under the C63 category on their website, but apparently they are a perfect fit onto the w212 E63.

From my personal experience, I had Kleeman headers installed on my car that were designed for W211 E63 and they did not fit W212 E63 due the very limited space under the engine. There was significant rubbing during even slight acceleration. The W212 has a much beefier front sub-frame and very limited space.
Eventually I got the Kleeman headers ripped out and stock put back in. My car dynos 460 WHP (93 Octane)with cat delete+K1 ecu tune on dynojet and sounds mean and loud. I love it. Personally for the price, I would just go with primary cat delete (or secondary as well if you wish) + ECU tune with stock headers.

I am a bit skeptical due to my no so good experience with headers that weren't really designed for my model/chassis.
Just my 2 cents.

Well, just cut the primary cats out and run pipes from the stock header to the reset of the exhaust. I had it done @ TTM (TTMotorsports) you can call Bruce for more details. If I did it again, I would just drop the whole stock exhaust annd run straight pipes all the way from stock headers down without cutting primary cats from the rest of the exhaust.

Im sorry but there is just no way there is a "perfect fit" between the C63 and E63 or every C63 header company would be in here selling.

And if they were a perfect fit, wouldnt CG place that product under the E63 section?

Interesting point Vic. I will email CG today and see what is up with that.

The garage owner had told me that when he fit that header onto the E63, the actual header was an exact fit, however the pipes after the header (2nd photo) had to be dented very slightly (barely a few mm's) at 1 spot in the middle so that they would fit in the 'compartment'.

But yes I guess it should be under the E63 if its a perfect fit. I will email them and let you know what the say here.

I emailed them and they said that they arent compatible with the w212. I talked to my garage owner and he said he was confused as he had fit one on the w212 with no problems whatsoever, so he sent them some pics and asked them for clarification/confirmation. He will get back to me tomorrow.

About the cat delete, will it help if I simply do a sec cat delete? Will that give me any extra power, or will it only make it sound louder?

keep in mind cargraphic do not make headers for e63 unless the one for C-class is identical

How much HP did you get from the headers alone Cayenne_ksa?
I am now considering and talking to SuperSprint as their setup seems to give more power.

Man--talking about negative return.

Anyway, I assume those numbers are pre-mod, right?

yea theyre both pre-mod....i rly dont get it... anyways im guessing that it will even out once i get mine tuned.... because in the end...the p31 only went up 13whp (from 429 to about 442) with the tune...so im guessing ill get a slightly better result... 419 to 442??
who knows.....
