Dyno Dynamics usually reads about 10% lower than Dyno Jet machines. So he would likely dyno around 465 rwhp if he would to dyno on a Dyno Jet.

Great write up Poison

they reason why it has that "Italian" sound that you are describing is becuase of the Supersprint resonators. It will have 100x more grunt if you remove those but it sounds great nonetheless.

By grunt do you mean sound wise? or power wise?

Okay, went and had my car tested again. Performance was still not great.. another w212 e63 had the cargraphic LTH with cat delete and a tune was able to go up to 320 km/h. Mine only barely got up to 305-310ish, with a huge struggle.

Another car, which (i think) had the evosport LTH's, again with a cat delete and a tune, kept pulling away from my car in a drag race.

(all 3 cars had exactly the same tune from the same tuner).

I am suspicious that the SS cats (or the SS resonator) are sapping the power a little bit, thats the only explanation I can think of. Although the cats are 200 cell (I think), they look pretty BIG.

So I emailed SS about it and I must say, I was EXTREMELY impressed by their response. They said they would send me the cat delete pipes, as well as the crosspipe that replaces the resonator, free of charge!!! However, they said they doubted it would give more performance, and they thought something might be wrong with the tune.

Anyhow, once the cat delete pipes and X pipe get here, ill play around with it and see which combination gives more power / a nicer sound.

I must once again say how pleased and pleasantly surprised I am with supersprint, they really are a company that takes their reputation very seriously and are fantastic to deal with ! Ill keep you guys posted.

Way to go Super Sprint!!! Your car is really gonna wake up sound wise and I know that the cat delete pipes will gain more power.
Post some videos when the setup is complete.

Just out of curiousity did you measure the inside diameter of the stock pipe vs the new? It's intriguing because there is a rumor that the stock E63 exhaust pipe is bigger than the C63. I measured the inside diameter of the C63 and found it to be 2-1/2".

Appreciate it!

Stanko, the SS pipes were 2-3/4" and they were definitely bigger than the stock pipes, so I would assume they are 2-1/2" too. I will let you know though

K just recieved the new parts guys and although I havent been there for the installation, garage owner tells me theres a noticable improvement in power and its a bit louder (basically I kept the resonator, but replaced cat pipes with non-cat pipes.

Ill post videos and more details about the dyno etc later.

Okay, there is DEFINITELY a BIG difference in performance. The car could barely get up to 310 km/h with the cats, without them it easily gets 320 km/h and seems like it can keep goin for more.

Acceleration is also improved a lot, especially at the lower RPM's, the car seems to pull a lot harder.

Noise is definitely a lot louder too, I tried flooring it in a tunnel today just for fun and I scared the hell out of the car next to me :P ears kept ringing for like 5 mins lol!

In short I love it! Unfortunately I couldnt really get a meaningful dyno result as the temperature these days is around 48 degrees C (120ish degrees F).

I will post some videos later, I didnt get a chance to do that today.

Since you have those straight pipe from SuperSprint. Do you want to sell your SS high flow cats? LOL

Haha :P Naaah, ill keep them just in case I decide to go "quiet" in the future, or if im selling the car to a non-noise-loving person

I havent posted any videos after the installing the cat-delete pipes yet, but I will by the end of this month for sure. Also, since the weather is now getting better in Dubai, im gonna redyno the car now that it has a few extra thousand km's on the exhaust, and see how well it does there.

Next step? Thinking about the Xtra-Power supercharger kit But im wondering how the reliability and daily-use of the car is going to be affected with such a radical upgrade.

Just wanted to once again point out how happy I am with the service I got with Supersprint, I really didnt imagine in a thousand years to get exhaust sections for free. I am absolutely in love with the entire exhaust setup! I know I promised them some videos and it has been a long time, but they will be here soon

Heres the video for the startup sound difference between the 3 setups.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kp5F97NMBU

1st is stock, 2nd is supersprint system with cat pipes, and 3rd is supersprint system with cat delete pipes.

More to come soon, hope you like it!!

i drive them all, fast and hard
i like the second one, but i also think the acoustics of yoru surroundings for the last 2 made it sound better, i think the stock one didnt get its full credit in the open setting,

I agree fellas, I like the 3rd one best too and I have been on that setup for the past 7 months.

Vdub, you are right in that the surround of the stock one wasn't as good for the acoustics, but anyone who has a w212 e63 will know that at startup the sound is very quiet at stock.

If I remember correctly, setup 2 gave me around 570 HP and setup 3 gave me around 595 or so (bhp). The stock one is the bone stock Mercedes one.
