I see that MB is going to bring back the E63 wagon to the USA. Its got good looks. I will seriously consider buying one with the performance package and debadging it to make it look like a normal wagon.

The article in Autoweek's online mag says:

Mercedes-Benz officials confirmed on Thursday that the 2012 E63 AMG wagon will be part of the North American lineup.

Slated to arrive in October, the high-performance wagon will get the same 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged, direct-injection V8 that debuted in the 2012 E63 AMG sedan at the New York auto show in March. It produces 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. An optional performance package boosts the output to 550 hp and 590 lb-ft.

Like its sedan counterpart, the 2012 E63 AMG wagon gets stop/start technology paired with a seven-speed multiclutch transmission. New 19-inch, 10-spoke wheels are included, but only the wagon version gets a panoramic roof as standard equipment.

The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagon was sold in the United States with the previous E-class generation through the 2009 model year. Mercedes spokesman Dan Barlie says it had a loyal customer base, and the E350 4matic nonperformance wagon still attracts some of the wealthiest Mercedes buyers.

I seriously plan to get an E63 AMG wagon about 2~3 years from now. Really, really love the idea of a ultra high-performance wagon. The fact that this generation of E-class wagon looks better than the sedan variant is also a nice bonus

I placed my order today for a February build. With any luck the roads will be clear of snow when it arrives.

 

Saw the new E63 wagon in Paris this summer. I so want one, but the lack of 4-matic is a bit a problematic here on the frozen tundra. Nevertheless, I do have a huge sleeper wagon fetish, so I may yet succumb. This is the best looking AMG wagon to date.

Mine will get the winter workout next year. I love my AWD cars but survived just fine for 25 years of winter driving without them. Of course I'll have other options available on the worst days and Nokian snow tires for the rest. I'll let you know how it goes.

The AMG pusher says no and this is confirmed online. Apparently the E63 mufflers take up too much space. Disappointing.
