E63 Coupe-When?
Anyone have any inside info on if and when we might see an E63 coupe? I kind of assumed they were waiing for the new TT 4.5 engine. I'm anxious to get out of my 4 door for a 2 door.

You might not see it for a couple of years. The E63 coupe is built on the C class chassis, and AMG has stated that the 5.5TT won't fit in the C class. My gut says the 5.5TT won't be available in an E63 coupe until ifs available in the C Class.

Hopefully in the next generation the E-Coupe will actually be based on the sedan and get AMG treatment. MB needs a coupe that slots below the CL, not one that is just slightly above the C.

At least back when the E63 was released there was a statement that the E63 will not be available as a coupe because it directly competes with the CLS 63. But this may be old info

Oddily enough they are building a C63 Coupe and C63 Coupe Black Series. The "C" Coupe and "E" Coupe are the exact same thing, just the "C" Coupe looks much cheaper and a bit uglier. I would have preferred they use the "E" Coupe to make an AMG out of, out of the two.

Perhaps, but the C63 coupe doesn't compete with the same customers who buy the CLS 63, firstly because of the price, secondly because of the perhaps more youthful design of the C63 coupe. But an E63 coupe would look nice indeed. Not gonna happen though.
