2012 E63 on order
I put an order in on a 2012 E63 last week. Will get my build date next week and will let you know when it is arriving. Dealer said first 2012 E63s should hit dealer lots in lat Sep. / early Oct.

Any dealer can quickly look into their computer system and see the build and ship dates. I spoke with one dealer in the San Fran area this week and confirmed their first E63 should arrive there in about one month (late Sep).

E63 Build Date
Just got the build/delivery info. 2012 P30 (Performance Package) E63s will not be produced until November so my Perf. Pack E63 will likely not be at my dealer till Dec. 10th or so.
Anyone, have an north east MB Sedan lease with 3 months left that they want to assign so I can get out my Camry rental while waiting for my E63 to come in?

I asked my salesman what the estimated delivery date of my 2012 car (with the Performance Package) would be. Here is his answer:
Your vehicle will be finished with production in the last ten days of September, from there please allow 30 days for complete transit from Germany to here. Expect to see the delivery of the vehicle towards the end of October.

I put down my deposit about a month ago. I'm not sure that meant the order was actually placed then.
I got a call a couple weeks ago letting me know that one of the options I ordered (801 Black Premium Leather) was not going to be available on my car. I interpreted that to mean that the factory finally reviewed my order.
It will not surprise me if the car's arrival is delayed.

if it's any condolence, I ordered my 63 with door sills......
and didn't find out until the day I was going to get it that it had none.....
I guess they really live up to the "changes may be made without notice"
sentiment.......lol.......
damn it would have been sweet to have those illuminated sills!

I'm in no hurry, but if it's closer to the time of the F10 M5 release (early 2012) that might make it a harder decision, although there won't be an M5 wagon. MBUSA should get these out on the road quickly and way before the new M5, so people on the fence don't wait.
The W212 E63 with the new M157 motor and P30 is going to be a monster combo. I do like the current NA M156, but there won't be any comparison; it's a whole different league now.

I seriously considered ordering a wagon with the perf package too. I like the idea of replacing the badges with those from an E350 wagon.
I looked at an E350 wagon in person and decided the small amt of extra space in the rear was not worth the disadvantages of the wagon

changed order to a cls 63
Just changed my order to a 2012 cls 63 AMG from the 2012 E63. We originally went with the E over the CLS because we thought we would remain a one car family for a little longer but a great deal on a leftover 2011 ML 350 BTC changed that.
It was still a hard decision. Both very great cars with the same level of performance but with very different approaches to utility and design.
Our P30 cls 63 should arrive late Nov.
