2012 E63 vs. 2012 CLS63?

You can call your dealer and they can tell you the name of the ship its on and then you can look it up and see where that ship is (or at least last reported location). My dealer has 2 E63's scheduled to come in 2 days apart on different ships.

Could you give me some info on what the names of the two ships are, because it sounds like you are talking about LA right? i dont want to call the dealer and seem anxious and throw away some of my negotiation leverage.

I only know the name of my ship, which is Virgo Leader. I know my ship left port 11/18, and it's "scheduled" to arrive in LA on 12/20. I am not "scheduled" to get my car on new years eve. My dealer says it's all a crap-shoot as to how long it will really take to get from LA to Portland. Depends on when it actually arrives at the port. Whether it needs additional configuration prior to departing LA. Whether it needs to be "touched up" from getting knocked around (you can image I did not like that one ). Whether they end up going on holiday and doing nothing during the week it arrives. If everything goes well, it could be at the dealer before Christmas.
Mine got put on a carrier within a few days of the build date. He looked at both his cars and saw one was shipped 2 days after the other. So that certainly means they are on different boats. I never asked the name of the other boat as i did not care.

once you get the name of your ship from the dealer you can google "ship name" and it will give you a few sites to try and track it
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ <- this is one option as well. But the ship has to be within range of a reporting station to see where it is real time.

I have not run them side by side as I dont usually allow anyone else to drive my cars at those speeds. But as the mags ALL of have shown (sorry hate quoting mags) the 63TT engine is faster than the NA 63 engine and at higher speeds it pulls even more. The TT engine appears to hold on stronger at triple digit speeds where the NA 63 loses steam.

Really hard core...for those of you tracking the ships.
Personally, just not too thrilled about the new CLS's tail lights...still look like some big fat thick lips set at an angle to me.

Haha ya i was so anxious to get the car i tracked it all the way into harbor, should have it tomorrow! And i agree about the tail lights. I also just dont think the cls is as stunning of a car all together as everyone seems to think it is.

Still like the classy look of the previous CLS's rear end. I was hoping they would just modernize that for the current CLS.

It's crazy to me as to how many people seem to hate the CLS rear. I think it has a great rear, save for the crude and unfinished look of the chrome deck lid trim (the way it just harshly ends at each side, looks like they ran out of time or something).
It's the crashing and tragically nonsensical amateur-ly appearing side lines that bother me. Namely at the rear of the rear door, absolutely terrible IMO, gives the car a less elegant and more stubby look than the proportions should suggest. Look at BMW's 6 Series in contrast, even though it's a 2-Door, it has the same sloping roof/Coupe theme and similar dimensions.... But the side profile looks stunningly elegant, and very long and graceful.

I guess it will take a while before the new CLS settles in and we all start to love it. Still, for me, it wouldn't be until they do something with those lip taillights.

So it will be you, then...I figure it wouldn't be long before someone brings it up. The thought has bee lurking in my mind but I figure I will wait to see who will mention it first. I hope it wouldn't offend the female members, if any, on this forum.

There's actually a funny drawing somebody made, with the taillights right there smack dab in the.... middle. I'd post it but not sure if it violates the TOU.

With so many people equating the CLS taillights to orifices at opposite ends of the human body, I think it is a signal for MB's design team to do something about it. It shouldn't be that difficult to make it slightly more angular.

Yes, I do think it was done purposely. What better way to roll? When driving, you can always think about your "vagina tailights" and smile.
Not happening, MB did that on purpose.
Yes, I do think I would rather have some panties drop as opposed to trousers. The CLS is FTW in that case. LOL.
