Hmm, it looks like nobody knows. I think it is just the same as the regular 3 spoke AMG performance steering wheel with alcantara on both sides that can be ordered for $500. I have test driven the regular 4 spoke steering wheel a few times. Now my car has that 3 spoke one mentioned above. Can't really tell the difference. Of course I can drive to my local dealer and take out the tape measure...

sweet, though the 2012 wheels might be a whole nother size,
to me, the PP wheel in the 2010 felt a little smaller and thicker than the non PP wheel in a 2010. but that might be because the padding and alcantara
i suppose if i get a non PP wheel in my eventual car, i will have to get it alcantara'd

Sorry about that. Didn't really want to broadcast the news. Anyway, it has been a crazy two weeks, actually more like exact one week. That's why I was not around on the forum nearly the whole last week. I was planning to head down to Ft Myer, FL and stopped by Birmingham, AL on the way down there. Of course, the one at Ft Myer was sold before I got there (had to work the whole Thanksgiving holidays). Nevertheless, I got the one from Birmingham and drove it back. Yeah, sleeping in the back seat at the rest stops along the way--starving, cold, and sleep deprived--not too fun but at least made it back. I told my wife it's good she's away visiting relatives/friends...cause that's not something I would want her to go through. But us guys can ususally just "tough it out." Anyway, the car still cannot be registered until next week (went to DMV today).
So it's a 2010 iridium silver, black interior with black ash wood trim, CPO, 13K miles, P2 package, parktronics, night view, and of course the 3 spoke AMG steering wheel, non-pano (the way I like it, sorry), 18" wheel (perfect for midwest road and weather), new front Conti tires (summer, unfortunately they couldn't swap for all-weather PZero Nero). Of course I also found out my trade-in actually had previous minor repair.
By the way, also called Lisa at MB of Santa Rosa for quote on extended warranty price. Has tried to reach Rich Carlson of this MB in TX for a quote as well.

The E63 has what I would call a sideways X steering wheel (the x lies sideways in the circle) while the CLS has an upright T (the T lies upright in the circle).
Both steering wheels at their thinnest part (several areas but I measure right about 9 o'clock) measure 4 inches in circumference.
At their thickest parts (the enlarged parts around 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock) measure equal again at 5 inches in circumference.
Where the CLS PP wheel is thicker is below the 9 o'clock region and 3 o'clock region where it measures 4 3/4 inches versus the 4 inch measurement of the E.
I guess pictures would help but Im off to get a beer.

Mmm, maybe I need to go in the garage to measure the steering wheel. Mine just has that flat spot at the 6 o'clock position.
