picked up my new E63 today
) and picked up the car at noon today (I had just arrived into town from Europe last night). I only got to drive the car for a bit and am off to Asia for a few weeks while it sits in the garage.I love the sound of the motor as compared to my E55. As you will see from the first pic, I loaded the car with things that matter to me (which does not include a pano, or carbon fiber trim). I also purchased the extended warranty to get it to 7 yrs 75k miles for $3100 more.
Lots of things to like about the car. A few things that bother me:
1. The ease of entry feature only moves the steering wheel not my seat (my E55 moved both)
2. I am not sure the seat is as comfortable as my E55. Need more time in it to know for sure. Could just be a newness thing and need to get it adjusted just right

wow no sales tax in oregon?? didnt know that
how much did they negociate down to
i didnt realize the 5 spoke wheels were not part of the PP, but a seperate option
i think both wheels look nice,

Also, the new ones come with a free entrance into the MB driving school (been doing it for several months I guess), which will be nice once they figure out how to get me my entrance ticket.
Thanks

Wait a year, buy at 2012 at a $15k discount, like some folks seem to be doing with the 2011. But, as I pointed out to her, if I do that, I am taking what I can find out there and it's not likely going to have the options I want.
but anyway, I had no regrets when I bought my 2005 and I dont think I will have any regrets this time either. Life is short and I work hard.

Was the special order charge just for the rear sunshades? I've never custom ordered one and have always just bought off the lot. I guess there are several other custom options that don't show up on the website. Plus all the designo options.
When I was in Dallas last weekend, Park Place had quite a few of the designo colors on cars in their inventory. It was cool to see all the colors in person and not just on a swatch. Cashmere white was pretty slick! But also a 4k upcharge at least on the CL that was wearing it.
Enjoy your car!

Thanks

This 2012 E63 (and please understand I have never heard a Naturally Asperated version of the E63's so have no idea how it sounds) sounds guttoral (is that a word?). It just has a deep throaty sound that makes me feel like I am in a race car. When I put my foot into it a bit (no kickdown yet) it just sounds like an old detriot muscle car to me.

The sound in stock clothing goes to the CLS63TT- yes its even gruntier (is that a word?) than the E63... yes.
Now I have removed my secondary cats and resonators on the E63 and the engine definitely opened up. With this setup its better sounding and louder than a stock 63TT but its a very close 2nd place- very close.
But, I recently removed the resonator on the TT (nothing else) and this car is now the loudest and meanest of my AMG's. Its about 15-20% louder than the E63 (even with the E63 mods). Remember the TT's dont come with post cats so they are already loud and the resonator removal makes the sound amazing. I get compliments when Im on load and during start up too. The new TT engine is amazing in all aspects.
I bet the dealer is unwilling to come down in price since they know customers don't pay tax there. Wow, no tax, huh?! I didn't know about that. I'm sure the state gets it from somewhere else.
That's a good deal for extended warranty up to 7 years. I paid $550 more but I guess I can't complain since it takes me up to 135K miles, which I think I might possibly reach before the 7 years is up.
Wow, rear side sun shades!...Didn't know that one can be ordered. My wife was asking about that the other day and I told her there is no such an option. Yeah, those rear side sun shades and rear side airbags should be standard on a car of this price.
By the way, what type of window tint is it? Is it a film tint or some other advance ways of tinting the window? Always want to tint the windows but worry about bad tinting that causes bubbles years later.
Congrats!!!
