AMg Driving Academy for those buying new AMGs
Just a reminder in case some may not know.
We each get a free entrance into the AMD Driving Academy basic driving course. It's a one day course where you get to drive several different AMG cars. Its a $1500 value so my as well take advantage of it.
Your dealer can give you the info but basically you dial 1-800-217-6916 and give them your VIN. Unfortuately, they do not have the 2012 schedule yet so we cant register.
I am hoping after the basic course I am capable of doing this with my car!

its for any AMG purchased starting a year ago.. must be redeemed within 1 year though.
Reminds me when I was in my early 20's and I had a very nice camero with custom built small block 400... was doing donuts in a large parking lot and a cop came into it and wanted to arrest me
Can't wait to go! and russell, there's nothing wrong with finding a big open flat parking lot while its raining, preferable just started raining, and trying a few drifts. Thats how i got started.

That's great. I'll definitely make my way up to Laguna Seca within the next 12 months. My car is due at the port in LA on 2/14, then a couple of days later it should arrive at the dealer in Carlsbad.

yeah!! been waiting since August of last year, (when I got my 63) for the info to trikle down to us........not sure which track I'd go to.........or if I can even pick which one I like......

According to the AMG PL site, the 2012 schedule will be up mid Feb. I was going to take my class at Lime Rock in CT but if enough of you West Coast guys from this forum are going to Laguna maybe we can coordinate our dates and I will fly out. I generally try to spend a week a year out in LA anyhow for work.

"The AMG Academy free event I just found out was for only November and December. I looked back at the January and February programs and they did not have that option then."
I purchased my car on 2/25/12 so I may be SOL. Tomorrow I will call the phone # Russellm provided and see what they say.

The program started a year ago I believe and its for anyone who purchases an AMG vehicle. There was not documented "end date" I purchesed my car in Jan 1st.
I am just waiting for them to update the site.

Once again you know more than my dealer. I called the # you provided and booked AutoClub Speedway in Fontana on 10/23. My first choice was Laguna Seca but they were full. Thanks Russ.
