No, I think it will happen when MB service updates the version. I have read people were able to do that but then it didn't work with the newer production cars.

I doubt it. It will be nice, eh?! If they would only allow me to manipulate the navigation while moving...

You can, you just have to use voice commands.

Yes, but I find it easier to use the knob to enter the info. Lots of time with the voice navigation, I ended up screaming at the system. As I had mentioned elsewhere, I think all these major car makers should just swallow their ego and work out a partnership with Garmin and TomTom and let those nav expert do the nav part. My 5+ years old Garmin is still better, easier to use, and more capable than the Command Nav.

Derek - do you have to re-pair your phone everytime you get in and out of the car? Seems like mine looses the connection once I shut down the car and i have to go and reauthorize the phone when i start her up again.

That's strange, I don't have to re-authorize the phones I have alread paired with my car. When the Command turns on, it automatically reconnect with the phone I have paired--even when that phone is inside my house and the car is in my garage.

Glad to hear you guys got this working.
All I did was pass on info discovered by those smart guys on the non AMG forum.

About using nav while driving, I ordered a VIM from ebay and will let you know if it works.

Sorry for the late reply have been in the midst of moving from Dallas to Santa Barbara. No, I don't have to repair mine every time.

Best wishes. Moving has to be one of the most stressful things in life. It's almost like a never ending task.

I'm having a similar situation.....I've got to repair my phone for BT audio every time I turn off the car. The phone pairs for telephone purposes every time, just not for BT audio. I wonder if I need a firmware update?

Yep, COMAND firmware update fixed the re-pairing issue.

I'll be honest, it was a simple process but took me slightly longer this go around to pair the new iPhone 5 with the COMAND system. Probably user error for the most part. Deauthorized old phone (not sure if you need to do this), COMAND then recognized new iPhone 5, entered the pairing code into COMAND, iPhone then recognized MB Bluetooth, entered pairing code into iPhone and the two then paired successfully. Been streaming iTunes and Spotify with no issue to date.

Good luck!

Yeah, I did all that with the iphone 4, still doesn't stream. Have to borrow someone's 5 to see if it works.

I can't get my 2010 to stream from iPhone 5 (streams android fine though), what build date is your car? Do you have the Command updated, if so what update?

Thanks.

Congrats. I can't, for the life of me, get my iphone 5 to work. I'm about to switch back to android just because of this.

This is what happens to me no matter what I do with the iphone 5. I have tried connecting phone first, then add it to streaming. I have tried adding the phone to BT Audio first, I have tried everyfuc*kingthing. Again, I can stream no problem with an android phone. Ironic that I started this thread some time ago after figuring out how to get it to work (thanks to the board) how to get bt streaming working, but now that I switched to iphone it doesn't. Lol.

Yep. I'm having the same problem. I assume it is a command software problem. If I understand what folks are saying this will be fixed with a command software upgrade.

As far as making it work on your car today, just do this. Go to phone on command, under the sub category where it has your iPhone 5 listed click right to options, not on your phone but on top of that. Go right click options and select external authorization. I use 0000 on the command, then on my paired phone and walla. Your streaming. Just until you shut down. Then you have to do the above again.

Thanks. I did that 50 billion times, and it still gave me one of the many errors in the pics (I think that's the unable to authorize error).

Sigh...

I'm sitting at the MB dealer getting all my software updated. I'll report back if this fixes the continual iPhone 5 external repairing to make BT streaming audio function. I'll also let you know if it gives me my hard drive back.

Okay. Great news. The software update fixed it all. iPhone 5 auto connects for phone calls and BT streaming audio. Also when u hit mute on the steering wheel it pauses pandora on the phone.

It did take 5 hours to update everything. It was worth it.

So has anyone besides Andy had the software update done. I was able to turn BT sharing on but as others have experienced, unless you have "the latest software" it fails to connect.

I asked my SA this morning about this and he checked with his parts dept. he came back and said there was no update disc available.

For anyone that's had it done please spell out what you had done according to your SA on your work order.

Thanks

I took her in for service and told them my BT was not working right. Told them it would hook up to my iPhone 5 every time for phone calls but I had to do an external authorization to make audio stream thru BT. They hooked it up to their computers and from my understanding. It went thru every software on the car and updated everything. No disc, just plugged in and updated.

Initial phone call I told them I researched and needed command software updated. They said better to say what's wrong and let them go from there.

i asked a dealer last year to do it and they basically ignored my request...I will upload my work sheet for you this weekend. Agree with N997....just tell them bluetooth pairing is not working with Iphone 5. Suggest, that you've done research and that others have had success with Command Software Update and they should try that.
