Just moved to SoCal
I just moved to SoCal (LA) and wants to get my car lowered and get my brake calipers painted, can anyone recommend me a good reputable shop. Thanks in advance.

I would highly recommend Benzworks in Huntington beach.
Ask for Serge or Nick.

I made a call regarding getting my brake calipers painted and I got quoted $1000+tax, is this normal in California? because back in Washington it was $600. I don't want to paint it and found out that I got ripped off after I did it.

All you need are things like mineral spirits to clean them, followed by some high temperature paint of your choice and lots of masking tapes--and you're all good to go.

Serge and Nick have worked on my car several times. They not only handle modifications, they also do warranty work and services. Its a one stop shop for any So Cal member.

This is another shop, 2 in fact who told me its gonna cost 1k. I called benzworks they said they would do it for 400 bucks.

That's why it always pay to call around. Maybe if you call around some more, you will find somebody out there doing it for $200.

To me, I will not trust people who is willing to do brake calipers paint job for $200. IMO it will be a horrible job and paint quality. Basically it's 'you get what you pay for' and to my knowledge a really good brake calipers paint job cost about $500-700 depending on the color too and they have to take off the whole calipers. (But I might be wrong on the price)

$200 is a bit too good too be true TBH. As I mention before, I was quoted $600 in washington, so $400 still is kinda in that ballpark. While I always try to stay clear of workshops I'm unfamiliar with, coming from a reputable shop highly recommended by 4-5 guys out of 7 here on this thread. I thought I'd give them a try.

You will get some monster power out of the M157's.
Not sure if they've tuned the 4.6 Biturbos though.

Be careful about the crankcase exploding from over-tuning mentioned in the recent SL63 Chris Harris video.
