Gosh, one of the things that remain after such horrific accident is the residual chronic pain that will last for years, if not decades.

Thank God you're alive man. Despite car is crashed you should be thankful. Cars/Money/Etc.. can always be replaced yet never a human.
I'm glad you're alive. Drive safe in good health.

Looks lovely. I see you are faithfully sticking with non-pano. It looks like you have changed to 19" wheels.

Amazing, amazing, amazing... I'm a personal injury attorney here in Texas. I've represented people who have been in the same type of accident under the same circumstances (truck improperly and unsafely stopped on the freeway) with similar property damage. Unfortunately, their injuries were much, much worse. Also, they were not driving MB.
Congrats on the survival and enjoy your new TT E63!

Driving on the turnpike looked down to get my wallet (Only day I left my ezpass.) as the toll was coming up in about 1/2 mile. Saw the 18 wheeler ahead and thought it was driving. 2-3 seconds later had literally a split second to swerve left and then there was impact. Didnt even have time to gasp. The truck had a flat tire and stopped in the middle of the highway Instead of pulling off. I am very fortunate to be alive.
I walked away with a bloody nose (possibly deviated septum), cuts , bruises and my knees still hurting a month after the accident. To this day I still can't believe that I literally was able to walk away. I was very lucky. It literally felt like an explosion went off and my car flew across 2 lanes and landed against concrete divider which at that time I thought I was hit by another car. The first person at the scene asked me if I was alive, which gave me chills.
Today picked up my 2012 E63.

It's stories like yours that confirm my desscion to pay more to drive Mercedes & BMW. I always tell people they are built to be wrecked and walk away.
I am glad to see that you are OK.

IMO, MB > BMW in terms of safety. Compare the roof strength and side impact intrusion for E class vs 5-series at iihs.org.

I loved my E63 and wasn't ready to part ways just yet.... plus the new motor alone was worth the upgrade. I'm back to 100% percent btw. knees are good, just have a deviated septum. I was not traumatized by the accident. As a matter fact, I purposely drove right past that spot that same day to get the emotions and some fear all out of my system. Glad I was in a Mercedes. Also more thankful no one was in my car, as there is no way the passenger would have ever survived. Drive safe and have fun!
