just lowered my 12 E63 with KW Coils

First real mod on the car. Ordered the KW coils from a local show and got them installed.

wasn't sure how low I wanted to go with the stock wheels but the shop ended up using the lowest setting. The rear is set height and they wanted the front to match.

Havent picked up the car yet and cant tell you any driving experiences but will let everybody know later.

Here are some pics at the lowest setting

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Looks real good. I'm sure others who are expert in the lowering will chip in soon with fitment, etc.

You can adjust the rear if your tech is familiar with Airmatic and how it works... Outside of the KW provided link

I have the KW set up on both my AMG's and with the CLS the rear sat too high and with the E63 Wagon it sat too low- go figure and the link was the same exact piece too.

too low

I haven't seen the car in person but it looks like the rear is too low. I might have to buy some adjustable rear links to get things perfect.

Once my wheels come in I will be able to dial everything in

We sell the rear adjustable links to compliment the kit for $100 shipped in the US.

https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...ble-links.html

Let me know if I can help.

Interesting. I'm assuming that none of the kits are adjustable on the fly from inside the cabin? For example, should you have to clear an unusually large driveway lip, etc - press a button and up we go?

So the rear is way too low. This kit is actually for a cls and I imagine that the rear piece is for the cls.

So with the car at the lowest setting I do notice a stiffer ride. The rear is tucked in my fender and need to look at adjustable link option

This is exactly correct... the fixed link from KW on the CLS sits higher and on the E it drops too much. Your tech, should be able to go underneath and make a 1 minute adjustment to the fixed link to bring it up. Thats what Serge at Benzworks did for my wagon. We installed the rear links and saw it sat too low- he went underneath the car and baaam it was raised just perfectly.

Ill add this too though- drive the car after any adjustments as the airmatic has a mind of its own on the 2012 models. When we were playing around with the CLS heights- we would drop it low but after we drove it- it would sit higher than it appeared after the initial adjustment.

Vic,

So did Serge mess with Star to raise and drop the car or just modify the link. Unfortunately my tech does not know too much on how to make the adjustments

Also, do you have your fronts at the lowest setting? I have had my car for a little under a month was enjoying the smooth comfy ride of the stock. I should of waited on lowering the car till my wheels came in.

The car is much stiffer and does not feel the same anymore. I lower and slam all my cars but maybe I should of enjoyed the stock ride for a little longer

I figure if I raise the car a bit that ride will get better.

Thanks, where did you see me?
I ended put purchasing Avdance Performance adj lowering rear links. Have not had time to install them yet but plan too this week. Want to raise the front and back around 1 inch till my wheels get here

The Advance Performance adj links are great quality and my only option to being able to adjust the rear height in my area where there is not many MB tuners

They have been posting about their products on different threads

He did not use the Star on the rear- he actually got underneath the car and adjusted the airmatic leveling bolt- you can move it and force the system down and up.

I do not run the lowest up front either- I run about 26 inches off the ground from fender edge to pavement. I think I have about one to one and one half inch left on the coils.

tuners

Unforntunately there is no Serge up in the Bay Area and lack of tuners that understand and know AMG and mercedes benz vehicles. The lack of knowledge is upsetting

Everybody up here is wanting to modify my stock link and I really did not want to mess with any stock parts. All my cars are leased and I take them back to stock when I return them

Then just use the adjustable links- your tech will have to play with the settings but they should be able to get it right. Remember that once they adjust it and let the car sit- its not yet finalized- you need to drive the car up and down the street. Once you return you should see the final height while the engine is still on.

Saw you off Campbell near Santana Row area. And FYI I'm running the stock links on the rear, the guy at Sonic Motorsport adjusted the stock links. But sometimes I'm confused, when I parked my car and look at it, it sits higher?? (then the air lowered itself). Is there a way that we can lock up the height on the rear? maybe Vic55 can help? Please, thanks.

you need to find an indy mercs service shop who has defected service techs from dealers working for them, they should know enough about mercs suspension to get u right, not a generic wheel shop

For the time and effort you will spend modifying the stock links I personally would just get the adjustable links for $100. Easy for me to say since we sell them but its a much easier process and something that you can simply go back to OEM if your car is a lease or you just want to go back to stock.

We sell the links separate or with the KW kit https://mbworld.org/forums/cls55-amg...ble-links.html .
