ecu reset
I remember there was a way to reset the ecu on the tranny back to it's default to clear the way it reads your driving patterns on the W211 e63. Is there a way to do it on the W212 or is it the same as the 211? Car lags sometimes and i feel this can help it. Any help is great, thanks

That blows.
I was involved in a little spirited driving which turned out to full on race with an M6 from 80-150 and didn't expect to lose as bad as i did in the E63, the car wasn't shifting optimally condsidering my foot was floored with the gas under it. He beat me about a solid 2 car lengths. Althougth the V10 is a screamer especially after 100mph i thought it would be alot closer considering the E63 isn't exactly slow. When i used to reset my w211 you could notice the difference instantly.

All i noticed was he had the oval tipped Eisenmann Exhaust, not sure what else. We exchanged waives after but that was about it.
I think i have to adapt the drive it like you stole it method 100% of the time, normally i usually do, but those lazy drives in the city sometimes afffect the adaptive tranny in a bad way, by watering down the responsivness. Didn't care when i could reset it, but now it kinda sucks.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I hate that adaptive thing! I'll ask the dealer to reset it with its next service...but eventually it's going to lag again. There has to be a way to reset it. Overall, I think it's a dumb feature to put in cars. I want the action of my foot to control what I want the car to do, and not by some computer guessing my mind all the time.

Im fortunate that my driving path daily is wide open with good open areas via dig and long straights to push the car and enough sharp turns. I need the turns because I test the tranny and how quickly it downshifts or if it downshifts at all.
