How important is it to ...

rotate the tires on a 2012 E63? With different tire sizes in front versus back, I don't know if it's worth having some tech at the dealership joy ride my car just to rotate them left to right. I'm at 5,000 miles so if I'm going to do it the time is now. FYI- all 4 tires are showing 8/32 of tread. I'm surprised since I would have thought they'd already be less on the rears.

you may be able to rotate side to side if they're symetrical.......

Rotating tires is not applicable to the E63 due to the staggered wheel/tire combo.

Assuming they're DIRECTIONAL and SYMMETRICAL (the proper formats applicable to rotation of the rear tires), how much difference in the life of the tires do you think it will make rotating the rears?

Proper and worthwhile rotation of tires is usually done on non-staggered set-ups with symmetrical tires. Even if you have the proper tires on the rears to afford rotation from one side to the other, some shops won't perform the rotation because of specific wear patterns on the rears.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Right rear tends to wear the most. Compare the tread depth of the rear ones. If there is no difference, then rotating them or not probably makes no difference.

Thanks for the replies. I'm with Otakki. It's tough for me to imagine it'll make much difference so I've come down on the side on laziness and decided not to rotate them. 5k into it my tire wear has been surprisingly even. I'll report back if that changes. Thanks again for the advice.
