Hi, wondering if there is an owner of a 2010 E63 with factory carbon interior and black leather?

I have a 2012 E63 but they all now come with Piano black on the center console. Hoping someone could lend me there VIN so that I can order the carbon center console trim that came with 2010s

Sounds like the center console of a '10 CF interior spec car is also CF. Still, '11 and onward cars get Alcantara headliners and MBTex dash for an overall improved interior.

No, I don't have CF interior. What about calling MB Service for the part #?

My solution:

1st, I found the part numbers based off of a 2010 E63 Black Interior, and this is what I got back from my local MB dealer (Canada), so USA prices will be slightly lower (but not much)

212-690-23-62 $946.00 (Carbon left)

212-690-24-62 $946.00 (Carbon right)

212-680-86-07 $1112.00 (Carbon Temp Control)

212-680-07-08-7M17 $501.00 (Aluminum Ashtray)

204-680-01-07-7376 (CHANGES TO 204-680-01-07-7N30) $42.40 (Aluminum Console Cover)

All the above parts have to be pre-paid and come from Germany.

This is way too expensive - almost 4k in parts. Too rich for my blood.

Solution: Factory Piano Black Pieces Laid with real carbon exactly the same as OEM.

http://rotteccarbon.com/ uses a company in Germany to get them laid with real carbon that will be identical to the same color and weave as factory OEM AMG. Parts will be purchased in Germany and laid with carbon, then shipped back to me. This way, there is no downtime. Process will take about 4-6 weeks. The company that Rottec uses is the same company that make OEM carbon pieces for companies such as Maserati, so I know it won't look, feel or be cheap. Cost to do this with shipping, no core, duties and taxes is under $1500.

I will post pics after they are installed.

The benefit of this is that ALL 5 pieces will be carbon, instead of just the temparature control and the 2 side pieces next to the center console. Also, I am going to be saving almost $2500 as opposed to buying the OEM 2010 parts.

wow so u will be getting the entire center in carbon along with the sides and AC. ...thats awesome...i wonder if we can do a group buy, id be very interested....

why not send your current parts....wont that lower cost?
oh and if its overlay, then wont the thickness be different that the original pieces, assuming they really are carbon




in these pics below doesnt it look like the dash and door panels are real leather, versus tex. ...mine sure dont look that nice, and i got the upgraded leather in my car...

Yes! Those 2 silver pieces will be carbon as well.

If I send my own pieces, there would be shipping to Germany and downtime - 4-6 weeks without all those pieces. I guess you would save about $300-400 doing it that way, but you'd also have to pay a dealer (if you don't know how) to remove your original pieces. Shipping would take another week or so as well.

Plus, when it comes time to sell your car, I am sure you would be able to sell the carbon pieces to another W212 owner and at least recoup 50% of the total cost right?

I am told that it is real carbon, done just as OEM do them, and the thickness is in mm, so I don't think it will be any issue reinstalling them (fingers crossed). I believe they also sand down your original pieces so that will take mm off them as well.

Best thing is let me be the guinea pig first, then if it all looks good and there are no issues, we can do a group buy. Owner of Rottec is a friend of mine so we should be able to get a deal.

so will rotec buy the oem parts in piano and then send them to germany, or their people in germany buy those.....

im thinking even those OE parts themselves would be expensive to start with , thats why i was wondeirng about shipping your own pieces....

The company in Germany buys the pieces direct from MB Germany. Yes, these 5 pieces will cost you about $500 to buy them here in North America.

If you remove your own pieces to ship, there will be labor, shipping costs etc. Then you'd have to declare a value when they enter the EU - duties might apply, so at the end of the day, you don't save very much.

Also, when it comes time to sell your car, you have 5 carbon pieces that you can sell. Anyone who looks at the Mercedes OEM part prices, well, I would hazard a guess that these would be worth about $1,000.

Hell, if someone offered these pieces for sale now, and they were in excellent condition, I'd pay $1,000. So at the end of the day, you'd lose about $500 after enjoying it in your own car.

Remember, the price I am paying is $1500 - this includes shipping back to me, carbon overlay, AND the 5 piano black pieces. No core.

yeah, no wrong or right way to do it... either way you current pieces will have to come out, shouldnt be too hard to do, i think the side pieces probably just pry off, , once u get the center gear area out, u can get to the ac unit....hopefully it isnt more involved than that

Actually I've tried taking mine off before to get it wrapped in vinyl. You don't have to take the center console out or anything, there's a few small screws in the center just on the inside of the ac unit.

The door panel is more tricky though, I remember the person at the workshop telling me that the door trim is held together with a few screws from the inside.

I noticed that there is a piano black strip on all 4 door handles

I think it would look great if they were carboned also.

No, I don't notice those very much because my interior is black, so will leave them be. Maybe see how these 5 pieces turn out? If all good, perhaps those as well. How about you? Would you do those as well?

i think absolutely you/we should have those pieces too done, because if go on mbusa and spec out a car with the woods, u will see that those are also matching.....i think it willl bring nice contrast....


wait actually im wrong, just in the E550 it matches, on the those areas...

not a bad way to go, do u have to remove the trim to do that...is it glossy


anyone else have any takes on my leather concern, for the upgraded option, doesnt those pics i posted look like they have real leather on the dash etc

It's a dry cf look, no clear coat or glossy look. and the ones on the door panels were done on the door without removing the trims.

Update:

Apparently, the company in Germany missed out 2 pieces in the quote. There are actually a total of 6 pieces:

Side trim (left and right), Temp control, ashtray, console trim (left AND right).

Total cost will be an extra $700.

So, instead of being $1500, it's going to cost me $2200. Not as cheap as before, but still almost half the price of the factory pieces and it's going to be all carbon, rather than the 2010 Half carbon.
