I have not heard of any incidents where the Renntech SHELF tune was causing this. Freefall is running a custom Renntech tune with boost turned up to 20.3psi, well beyond their standard 18.8psi. As far as I know, the SHELF tunes of the other tuners already have boost targets at 20+psi.
The issue is not the tuner, but the boost targets of the tune itself.

I believe, Weistec is currently in development of racing spark plugs and will be released soon.. I will surely install it

For those that want to retain all factory hardware with their tune, it's pretty clear to me that a certain boost threshold should not be exceeded. And for those that want a higher boost tune, they just have to be prepared to upgrade their spark plugs, etc to aftermarket alternatives.

Weistec is located near my area, so they are local to me.
I drove to Weistec with my CEL on, the tuner put a revised tune on my car and it repaired the problem..
For the revised tune, I am not sure which boost setting they put, but all I can say is the power on the car feels the same before the misfire happened..
IMHO, its not which tune you go with, the factory spark plugs just can't handle these tunes, get racing spark plugs and it should be fine

I actually not 100% sure.. If you want to be safe, just go with racing spark plugs, that should do the job..

I run factory plugs. No issues.

plugs
so this is the issue, there is no corresponding info except the different tuners where problems are arising.
so I have yet heard of any problems from
OE
Kleeman
Velos
maybe there boost levels are lower or are cars just have different plugs to begin with.
I will be flashing the car back to stock and then taking it in to the dealer and seeing whats going on. Never imagined that I would have so many problems. The fact that I tasted the extra power makes me not want to live without it.
I cant figure it out.

Was very very disappointed, but after the retune (revised tune) it solved the problem and now I can enjoy the beast just like how it was

I just got my cel come on. Straight pipes, Rentech tune. (M157) I have the tune now for about a month. Everything was fine till today. Drove it hard today and after I restarted the car the cel came on and whole car shakes when sitting still. Also I have another ECU with the stock tune and I plug that in and cel come on that too. I hope its the plugs.

I find it interesting that not one of our many sponsors/tuners have posted their thoughts and the corrective measures needed to avoid these issue. Obviously there is a problem but I see them continue to sell their tunes like everything is fine.
I was ready to pull the trigger on a tune and downpipes but now I'm a bit hesitant. Fried plugs, CELs and limp mode are not items I need to come along with the promise of more power.

I think it will be a bit too loud but i'm not really sure, but from the inside the sound is rather deep and loud than crackling
Please note that if you have straight pipes and you tune your car, the sound is going to be even louder
Right now, I am very very satisfied with my exhaust note, my friends say it sounds like thunder lol

Trust me, the power gains you get is very very worth it and addictive..
When I had the misfiring issues, the dealer reseted my ECU back to stock and when I started the car up, I instantly noticed the sound difference.. and when I started to run the car, I literally was about to cry that my car is not as fun as before..
So my point is that if you are not ready for the tune, don't tune your car because once you tune your car, you can never go back

Rock, if you want to be safe, just slap on some racing spark plugs but if the problem occur now you can question the tune..

I have been testing these plugs for a little as a recommendation from Renntech if "I was going to track the car."
Bosch high power RB ZMR5ttP339 which can be ordered at BMW
dealership pn: 12120038832
I would also suggest checking the coil packs as this was another culprit of my misfires and CELs. I am not saying this is right for everyone as I have specific tune from Renntech for catless DPs but I am running them now with no issues...we think...

Waiting for a tow truck. Not drivable. Cant even get up the hill. Whole car is shaking like a tank. I hope its nothing serious. It seems like bad gas and problem with injectors. I dont know I give up at this point. Its going back to dealer!!!

That sucks. Please keep us posted on what the dealer says. Hopefully it's as simple as a spark plug replacement. What is your car's build month/year?
