Winters are on!
Waited as long as I could, but put em on just in time for some nice warm weather haha! I actually drove in some slick stuff yesterday with summers not horrible. ETS/ESP really reins the car in hard to break it loose. Hopefully the blizzaks work as well for me on E63 as previous rear wheel drive BMW's.
Just hate driving them for the first time on dry roads definite adjustment.
Here is my setup with a pic.
18x8.5 TRMotorsport MT1 MG with 255/40R-18 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 XL
Front and Rear
Size: 18x8.5
Offset: 35mm
Backspacing: 6.25"
Bolt Pattern: 5-112
Rec. Tire Size: 245/40-18
Weight: 19.5lbs.
Finish: Matte Grey

Looks nice I went with the Enkei PF01 18x9 with Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D, 255/40-18 all around. Had them put on this Monday, have to make sure I don't hammer accelerator as fast since the rubber is softer obviously. Now ready for the snow to fall, whenever that may be.
Specs of the Enkei rims:
Size: 18x9
Offset: 35mm
Backspacing: 6.33"
Bolt Pattern: 5-112
Rec. Tire Size: 255/40-18
Weight: 20.0lbs.
Finish: Bright Silver Paint

Nice set up. I went through tire rack did not see the Enkeis as an option so I had to go with the TRW's as they were the only 18" pkg. I am wondering if I could have gotten away with 19" pkg. Would have to go to a 35 profile just wasn't sure how they would do in snow. Definitely squishy ride with snows can't hammer the accelerator like you said. As for the snow yeah it seems to be getting harder to figure these winters out.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Interesting timing of thread. I just spent an hour and a half this afternoon swapping on snow tires for my Nissan. It will be good for the half dozen or so days when it really snows. Rest of the time, I'll still be rolling in my usual ride.

Yeah I went through Tirerack as well. Their website is screwy and only showed the TRW's for the 18" package, but when you build your own package with the 19" wheels just change the URL address to 18 from 19 and the tire size to the proper 18" size then you can see what rims are available, after selecting a tire. I was torn between the TRWs & Enkeis, the TRWs look great on your darker colored car IMO, but in the end I wanted a 9" wide rim with the 255 tire width plus the silver of the Enkeis went better with my car. As for going with 19" rims, I think having a higher profile height the better, especially with the potholes that occur over the course of a winter. You made the right decision with the 18" combo.
