Daaam I like the f10 M5. If it sounds that good from the outside. I wonder what's with the speakers playing some exhaust note from inside the car? I dont get it...

I thought I seen Vic55 put down 537WHP. I think the f10 is faster then the factory PP due to it awesome DCT which IMHO is slightly better than the MCT just not as strong.

I ran my buddies F10 M5 when I was tuned and pulled him 3 lengths and counting, if he tunes his car I don't know what the outcome will be but I do not think he will beat me.

Here are the dynos on different days of my M5, my Black Series, and Vdubpower's E55PP car.... of course different days different conditions but my M5 dyno'd on the hottest day per the guys at EAS.
This first dyno sheet shows the power with mph vs rpm's. Check out the Black's power (hp) curve vs the M5--- similar in shape just lower on the spectrum. Thanks again to Tom and team at EAS (European Auto Source). These are all SAE corrected numbers.

Here is the same overlay with RPM's

i agree, the active sound seemed to get alot more bad hype than it was worth to ever put in in the car. you just dont even know its there.
did you say you had an Eisennman exhaust?
how do you like it? im thinking about either it, or the akrapovic or meisterschaft. i would like one thats nice and loud.

I think a tuned race will be very close when they are both modded. My gut feel having owned 2 tuned M157's and a stock F10 is that the M157's will hop out to a half car lead because of their hp curve and the f10 will reel it in post triple digits speeds. The DCT will be the main reason why up top. This of course is my opinion with personal ownership of both engines.

everyone says how the 5.5 tt would be stronger/have more tuning potential than the f10 because of the greater displacement but evidently what the m5 lacks in displacement in makes up for in rev's, just like the e60 m5 did. (god rest it's soul)
i guess BMW wasnt totally asleep when they designed the f10...

As for the BMW and the displacement piece I agree with higher rpm range allowance and we do have bigger stock turbos I think which helps.

The M5 does sound good.
The new E63 (reg and S) is faster. Can't wait to see what BMW will respond with. We live in a great area. Who said the hp wars were done. Amazing to be able to buy super sedans running as fast as 1980s F40 and 959.
And we live in a great country where it is fairly affordable.

When my GTR was stock it was fast to 100 but it was a slug after 120mph- the AWD system eats away at the power. No different than a Panny TT where it pulls crazy 0-60 and 0-100 times but then its quartermile times (trap speeds) deteriorate.
We shall see.

im sure bmw will toss in a xdrive for the m5 in next few yrs.
im wondering how on the S model, they bump up the hp to 580 vs the PP at 550,
but the torque is still 590
how do they move one and not the other

Its just in the software tweaks... The S63 with the PP has more hp than the E with the PP (current year models)- same engine its all a marketing game IMHO. No one who buys an S63 with PP for all that money should have E classes with the same stock hp- god forbid. LOL.
