2014 E63 - Total Visual Let Down

I'll be the minority. I love it. The previous generation looked too much like the base E. The only thing they should have done was added the C63 bumps in the hood. Why they don't add those is beyond me.
Did the previous E63 really have flared fenders in the rear compared to the stock E?

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014! E63S 14, Audi S8 13, CLS63 12, E550 12, C63 09, all tuned
I think I like it. One thing I like is the AMG 2014 is not going to look like a E350 sport. Finally a AMG only look.

I felt the same way when i saw this pic originally from this angle. The problem with this pic is that it is very deceptive and hides how far the actual grill and nose stick out...just sayin

Meh, I like it. The smoothed out lines appeal to me and I like the new headlights (and the LED eyebrow look Mercedes is incorporating into their new cars), but this is design and to each their own. But I am disappointed they're getting rid of the hood ornament, and I should also put out there I haven't seen it in person so I may be let down when I finally see it at the dealer. The interior looks like a big improvement though.

And changed a lot of the cheap plastic trim into the metal pieces. Like on the seat controls, the row of buttons on the dash, and the center air vents (instead of just a surround the entire piece is metal). It's not a massive overhaul like they did in the W204 facelift but all the little changes add up to me.

Gotta agree with you guys..not loving it. Especially disappointing, as camillo mentions, is the shaving of the rear wheel flairs. By shaving that down it loses any sort of aggressive stance and becomes very pedestrian. Too bad...the car is a monster under the hood but a bit of a patsy around it.....

Callmiro thanks for the real pics.... the driving experience is really going to have to WOW me if Im to consider and you know me, Ill buy whatever comes out LOL....
Heck I bought a GTR not for the looks and even that driving experience wore on me as brutal as the car was in speed and handling.
When is the car coming stateside again? April??

i said the same going from a W211 to the W212 in terms of design but the 212 eventually grew on me. The new model i doubt will do the same. Not feeling it at all, and my current 212 may be the last mercedes for a while. Going for an M5 and maybe an RS7 afterwards.

Looks like a bloated version of this ancient base model S class IE zero AMG styling cues. Everything on exterior of this new E63 is worse than Bangled, they went 10 steps fwd in performance & 100 steps backwards in styling.
If the chasis are similar enough underneath I'd swap every body panel possible inc headlights etc from 2012-2013 E63.... That or if possible just add 4matic unit used on 2014 to the 2013 & call it a day...

I don't know why everyone's getting overly excited about the performance either? They basically put a better tune on and add awd...which makes it faster for 0-60 times. I bet Other performance is the same as the old one(if they were both tuned to the same power level). Other than launching awd doesn't really help much?

It looks like its hit 240 km/h (150 mph) in about 17 seconds flat. That's pretty blazingly quick and definitely seems faster (keeps pulling) by a good amount on the mid range AND top end power than the F10 M5 even let alone a stock PP E63 AMG before.
I hate throwing around numbers like a magazine bench racer but a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 (which is no damn slouch) has around the same performance figures so far as I have seen a stock E63 AMG S 4Matic...
A 4 door Lambo? Hah. I can't wait.

The car will be a beast (it actually looks like one too from the front) no doubt from a dig- but like all AWD cars and I have had many that were and are over 500 hp- the drivetrain robs it of power up top. The MCT is not as efficient as a DCT as well. I know this will be the fastest 0-60 sedan out there but I dont see it pulling cars with similar hp and better trannys in rolling races from 50-140 or that range.
Now once you mod this thing with a tune it will be scary (ier).

That you can drive year round and haul the kids and all their stuff around in? Looking like very good performance/practicality value propostion.
I like the look of the pics. It's going to have to be pretty ugly in person and basically be the bait and switch job of the century to get me to back out. I parked next to an OEM F10 M5 the other day and it's not exactly a looker... these are big huge do-it-all sedans, they aren't going to look lithe and athletic.

You can also select non-S or wagons.
The site is really rough draft. It's just for exterior & interior colors, so it's missing prices, interior trim options, and general options.
