Wink 2014 E63 Vs 2013 E63

Hi all.

I need your help in a decision. I am buying an E63AMG and have to decide on wether I go for the current model or wait until de new 2014 E63AMG rolls out. If I lived in the US, it would be a no-brainer and I´d go with the new model. However my situation is a bit more complex. I live in Colombia and have an offer for a brand new 2013 E63AMG for (roughly) US150k (I know, cars are way expensive down here, but that 150k is with a US15k discount from list price). It is black on black with LSD, no other optional specs . The dealer tells me if I want the new model, it will be roughly US50k extra (making it almost US200k), but I could add any additional specs, however it would arrive no earlier than January 2014.
The question is:
Should I go for the discounted 2013 E63AMG or wait until January and pay an extra 50k for the new model?

I´ve been trying to convince my wife for at least 2 years so I can buy this car, the only condition is I must keep it for at least 7 years, so I can´t even think of selling it the 2013 for the new model in 2 or 3years.

thanks for the helP!!

If you don't need or want AWD then go for the '13. The other changes on the '14 are cosmetic. There's a small power bump on paper, but they're already very underrated so it's debatable whether they actually changed anything or not.

I'm pretty sure that the 2014 E63 AMG S 4Matic is a lot faster than the outgoing E63 AMG Performance Package.

Faster? maybe.... quicker yes- The AWD will assist the new 2014 in launch duties over the rwd 2013 but the AWD system will hold it back a little in rolling races (ala the faster part).

Ill wait to see. Ill be the quarter comes faster due to the launch but Im a rolling racer and rarely get to run digs with wideopen streets ahead the rwd version might still be optimal.

What's your basis for saying that? Looking at the numbers, I would say they'll be identical for all practical purposes. Same TQ. Slightly more HP but also greater weight. If you like to drag race, then the 4Matic will gain a couple tenths due to the AWD at launch, but that's irrelevant for normal use.

point is if a car makes 530+ whp stock (new one should make more) u can forget 1rst and 2nd gear full speed pulls

so factor in that you might also mod in the future..then we have a car more usless at low speeds on the roads

4wd means every day driving will just be way more and controlled
and that is where most of us spend our days

Just take this as an example, most people can only get the best out of their cars from a stand still if they use:
A: drag tier wheel combo
B: Have a track that is prepped and sticky

4wd makes this a daily reality on street set ups!
