2010 e63 AMG

I am looking to buy a 2010 e63 AMG. Seems like everyone I have looked at has had the battery replaced several times in the last 3 years; all with low miles......Do the 2010 have electrical or any other problems, should I be looking at a different year? Different model? I sold my 06 cl55 AMG and really miss it...Want another AMG.

Thx for the help.

Bill

Are you strictly looking at used cars? No 2013 e63? or 2014 all wheel drive?

I ask because I only have experience with the 2012 e63, although it is a very similar car to the 2010

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
I haven't had any battery problems...but knocking on wood. Whenever I can, I connect my batteryminder in the garage to the battery. The W212 E is a real electric hog, even when parked.

Otakki, thanks for the info....That may be the reason for the battery having to be replaced....Low mileage may mean the cars sat for a while........Baterryminder???

I've had no electrical problems but have had the battery replaced. As someone else said here, the car is an electric hog. If your're buying cpo, you should be buying the extended warranty from MB as well. 3 gs for 3 extra years. Well worth it for these cars. Then you won't have to worry about the battery or the electricAl

I haven't had any problems with ours, and.........I might let it go. I haven't been pushing it right now because I am trying to sell an SLK too.

Yes, "BatteryMinder," which is a competitor to the well-known "BatteryTender." I bought it 7 years ago when shopping for one and, after some research, thought BatteryMinder to be better. It has worked great.

Does that mean I get a free battery when the battery goes dud? It will be good if yes since it's hard to find a place that sells Varta or similar replacement.

Replaced dead battery at 31,000 miles on my 2010. Just be prepared because these performance cars use parts: batteries, brakes, tires, etc. You pay to play, my brother.

Per dealer, the 4-years factory warranty will cover the battery. After that, it's around $325 a pop for the oem Varta gel battery.

My 10 had the small size Group 48 battery.
AMG probably wanted to save the 15lb of weight.

The full size Group 49 battery fits in the tray, so I changed to an Odyssey AGM in the larger Group 49 size.

The dealer also gave me a new Varta ,under warranty, but I shelved it as a spare.
