I basically did the same thing. Had 3 prior C63's, then moved to the M157 E63 after being lured by the power, but got bored of that car quick after realizing it was only fun and fast in a straight line. Traded the E back after 6 months for a new 13 C63 P31 and it feels great to be back in the saddle of the mighty M156 and track-friendly C chassis. Haven't taken the plunge with a supercharger yet, but got all the NA mods on there and for now it's very satisfying.

Good luck.

Guess it really depends on your lifestyle. If you're more about being a racer, then C is the way to go. If you're kinda in between and like a bit more refinement in your ride (comfort here, not performance) go with the E. Really depends on your priorities and where you are in your life. Not a slight here to anyone but when i see C63s or M3s i think adolescents or 20's ish drivers. When I see E63s or M5s, i think middle aged men with kids...(when i see SL 63s i think old men or strippers....

I think that's the same approach taken by MB in targeting the market.

Assume you are talking about videos of JRcart's C63 vs the Weistec turbo upgrade E63? I hope you know that C63 isn't simply "bolting on a Weistec" and that car has a fully built engine with cnc ported heads, built transmission etc. Far more than just bolting on a stage 3 Weistec supercharger kit. And also fyi, that E63 beats that C63 now according to the C63 owner, and it is doing it on a stock engine, not all worked up $$$$$$$ like the C63.

I say wait for the AMS alpha 9 kit to be finalized and have your bolt on car with stock tranny/engine trapping nearly 140mph. They already did basically 136mph before even adding the rest of the alpha 9 kit to the car so that thing will certainly be an animal when they complete it.

NickC63 just doesn't have as nice of a ring to it. I'd personally keep your E63.

No, the Alpha 9 kit (turbo) for the E63 they are working on that did 135.7mph at their first track visit on only tune/turbo upgrade and they still need to add exhaust to include I would assume catless downpipes and the bigger turbo inlet pipes, etc, and that is on stock cooling as well so the E63 has more in it before they are finished with the alpha 9 kit. Wouldn't be surprised if it broke 140 on a cold night.

Only thing I am aware of now is the pump upgrade that comes with a second little heat exchanger from Renntech and is an absolute ripoff at $3500 for the little "kit" which has those 2 things with the little bracket and clamps, hose, etc.

There is always something faster.

With that being said, the best AMG Ive ever owned (7 total and 2 M157's) is the C63 BS. It clearly is what a drivers car should be and sound like. If I wanted interior I would have kept the M157's or gone Audi. Stock vs stock any of the M157's will beat the BS in a straight line but wont hold a remote candle to it in handling and driveability. Yes my opinion but I own and owned them both plus other AMG's so Ill stand by my point.

So if you were going to get a BS and mod it, it would be the bad *** drag stipper and road course warrior crushing others. Except for modded GTR's and few choice cars.

I know man, I got my GTR in Feb of 2009 that was a long long time ago and by April of that year it had the HKS 600 kit (later bumped to 650) and it was a force to be reckoned with. But then came the tuning onslaught of the likes of SPE, Switzer, AMS etc and my car was only a middle performer but I was fine. I still never felt ultimately connected to the car nor was it my fave of the stable during that time.

i got my 2009 Premium GTR in sept of 2008, first person to own it in NY (according to my dealership) when i brought it home i had people follow me off the highway, everyday people lined up starring at it, ive owned a 2008 GT2 red that never got half the attention the GTR got me. i was on a waiting list for 4 months until PPG developed the 1st gear upgrade, i blew my transmission after 60 or so launches, (nightmare experience) shipped it to georgia and gave Forged Performance 35k to do everyone available to it at the time, got it back and was running Gixxer 1000's and beating them.. sold it to some dude off the street he blew the motor week after purchasing it.. now i own the E63 and it goes unnoticed lol Next is the 991 turbo..

The huge amount of attention that the GTR gets on the street, and the completely ridiculous price increase of $30,000 for the IDENTICAL car that was launched in 2009, is the reason I will never buy that ugly piece of *****.
$100k for a G37 with turbos and a DCT transmission?
Go F yourself Nissan.

If the next C63 gets the 2014 E63 4matic drivetrain, AMG might have found a lifetime owner in me.

LOL

I paid 73k brand new for mine in Feb of 2009--- that was triple net of invoice- I think sticker was in the 80's then. Its just economics- the car had enough demand to where they could keep bumping the price. Now the track edition is 115k plus and the black edition is circa 110k. Crazy huh!!!

But its still the best "performer" for the buck IMHO.

My good friend owns a Nissan store and has had a 100k sticker silver car sitting on his lot for almost 200 plus days... I have a chance to get it in the low 80's brand new. I passed and its a 2013.

Sorry, but this question has to be asked ... what do you guys do? I mean, DAMN, Vic55, your current stable is several hundred grand in just cars!

Sheesh, and I thought I was comfortable

OP- sell the E63 and get a C63 BS and mod it - damn that car is just pure sex on wheels! Remember, there will ALWAYS be someone faster ... don't chase after the empty black hole of being the 'fastest' or 'faster' than any one car.
