295 on a 9.5 is a bad idea. I just got the bridgestone s04's on the '12 e63 to avoid this situation, really wanted super sports though. Also, don't compare tire heights front to rear, the car was engineered to have a difference there, the goal is not to have them be as similar as possible.

yeah whole new set. From what I hear from over 5 tire shops and others, the s04's are the most similar to the super sports. They are a little heavier, not sure if its all that noticeable.

Now that you've got some miles on your S04's, please comment re their traction, noise and ride quality versus the stock Conti's. With less than 14k on them my Contis are about to go. I want to stick with OEM sizes so unfortunately MSS's are out. I'm looking at S04's for just $860.

2016 G63 AMG
did you really get 15k miles on a set of tires? that has to be a record. this is my first E63 but I was assuming I would be rollin on baldies at 10k. Is that not the case? I do not drive the car hard. Aggressive maybe but not tire burning hard, more highway than anything.

Also MPSS are awesome tires, had them on my M3 and Im bummed I cant get them for the E63 I was planning on buying them for the first new set. Hopefully they will come out, but i am telling you on the M3 I was burning rears at 8k, the SSs were lasting way longer than that.

Yes, I'd be curious to find out how the Bridgestone Pole Positions are working out on the 212? I can still go around a 1/2 year or so on the stocker contis and hoping maybe the Pilot SS come out in the correct size by then, if not I'll more than likely go with the Bridgestones. How is the ride quality of those Pole Positions on bumpy roads? Any better than the stock Contis? How about handling and road noise? They sound like a deal for the money and all the reviews I see on Tire rack are good.

Ya, I'd really like to know how anybody who has put the Pole Positions on likes them, if they are even as good as the stocker Conti's or Pirellis. Apparently the guy who said he'd do an update who put on the Bridgestones is no longer checking in. I had a really weird thing happen with my Conti's. They were new a couple thousand miles before I bought my car @ 9700 miles, after 4000 miles the inside of the fronts were scalloping and that threw them out of balance and also made the car sound like it had snow tires on it with braking under 20 mph. Soooo, I took the car to the tire place and had all 4 balanced and rotated them right to left same axle and they did a front end alignment, now the car is smooth as glass on smooth roads no vibration but has a strong right pull on crowned roads whereas it did not before, fairly flat roads it seems ok. Went to another really good alignment place and they told me the alignment that was done the numbers are spot on, so now I'm thinking maybe I've got a bad tire. As a temp fix last night I let about 5 lbs out of the left tire and have tried driving it yet, probably won't work. I might try rotating the front tires again back to where they were and if that does not work then do the same with the rears. I hate to replace the tires at this point as they are about 50 percent worn now 7000 miles into the tire life, so I figure I can get at least another 7 to 10k miles out of them unless this pull drives me completely bonkers and I can't figure out any other answers to it.

I'm running them on the wagon. They are a touch wide but no rubbing so far. I think it even rides a little nicer with the extra meat.

Read this article on radial pull. Follow the instructions to determine whether it's truly the tires that are the culprit.

Great article from Tirerack, every service guy at the dealers should read this. That's exactly what I was thinking of is moving the front tires back to where they were left on the right and right on the left and then I'll see if the pull feels any different, according to both places the alignment is spot on right now, cambers out just a tiny bit but I did not feel like doing the camber bolt kit yet and is not really necessary at this point.

Tom, could you please post of pic of the 295's from the rear of the car around 20 feet back? I want to see how much wider they look from the rear. They really don't look like they are bowing in too much to the rim, at least from the outside of the sidewall. I'm thinking that's more than likely what I'm going to do is just go with those 295's on the rear because I don't track the car on the circle track and probably hook up a little bit better in a straight line. Are you still running the 255 35 19's on the front end Tom? If so do you notice the back end being just a tad bit higher or is it not noticeable? I thought about going with 265's on the front to make up for the slightly taller 295's on the rear. All this will not be happening with me though until next spring and maybe by then Michelin will be making a 285 stocker size for the rear hopefully.

yeah its interesting that the car comes stock with a taller front than rear,
so its a good question as to whether to go 265 up front...

i know thats what AMS did on there 800 hp E, maybe someone from there can chime in and give us an update on how they are doing with those tires

Tom, are your rear wheels on a wagon also 9.5 inches width like the sedan?

Wow, those 295's are wide. Do you notice much a change in fuel economy? It must look like a tubbed dragster from the rear.

The car came with the P Zeros. rears were just starting to get to the wearbars but got sketch at full throttle launches so it was time to switch. Fronts had tons of wear left.
Changed out at 11,000 miles.

All four. We cant be driving around on different brands now can we.

they seem to be a bit quieter than the P Zeros. i'm pleased with them. only 200+ miles on them so far.

Yes i went with the stock 255's in the front. looking back i'd prob see how the 265's looked. these seem to look a little narrow.
