2010 E63 cabin filter ?'s

In the following pic's is this where the cabin filter should be located and is there one in the cabin near the glove box?. if someone could post pic's of their filter and placement would be a big help. By the looks of it I have the cabin filter delete option on my car. 2010 E63 cabin filter ?'s-dsc02377.jpg

I don't think there is such an option? The pics look just like mine.

I was joking, I was referring to the fact that there are no filters in the housing, if this is where they are supposed to be. If you don't have any filters in your housing either then maybe the cabin filters are located some where else. I thought that the previous owner took them out or the dealership for got to replace them. I really need to find a good repair manual. Thanks for your reply.

I doubt MB will make the air cabin filter so easy to change. From what I read on the C63 section on DIY cabin filter change, it's a nightmare to DIY on the c-class. I'm sure doing the same for the e-class wouldn't be any easier.

I watched a you tube video on replacing the cabin filters on a 2010 e350 and it was in the place that my pics show, but the housing didn't look the same as mine. Doesn't look like this board has many people that like to work on there own cars.

Black '10 E63
Your pics are the same as many other '10 E63's. There is no filter in that black box in your pics that I know of. All air passes through one filter that is located under the glove box. The E350 YouTube video is not applicable for this car.

Remove instrument panel cover below glove box, remove clamps at both ends of filter housing, unlock slide in direction of arrow – remove combination filter. *WARNING* This is a royal PITA procedure and why you don't see a lot of info about it. See this link for the actual procedure:

Thanks for the useful information. Having watched the E350 clip on YouTube and the cabin filters on my M5 were located there, I thought it might be plausible the filter may have been removed and or forgotten. Thanks again for the info.
