My apology to Weistec

I wish to make a public apology to Weistec. On another thread on this particular forum i criticised them for nto responding to a serious technical issue. Ihaving checked my junk mail i have found there reply which came within a few days of my initial message to them. The help they have offered me was generous and everything i had hoped for from them.

Steve i apologise to you and regret the damage to your reputation i may have inflicted.

Anyone who read my post criticising Weistec's post sale support to me should completely ignore it. My high regard for them which until this misudnerstanding was well deserved, has been completely restored.

In short, i am an idiot...Steve so sorry.

Good to see. Like I said, Steve is a good guy at heart. When a mistake is made, he has responded with an apology and a completely valid explanation. I do stand by what I said, which is that every tuner should aspire to the best customer service available... and even if they have good reasons, they need to better respond to consumers. That said, I still think they are the best out there for our cars, and I hope they get more business to hire more people.

Good to see you looked through your junk mailbox and apologized. Nice you manned up and did that. That happens to me all the time as well.

I removed your post in that thread and the comments it directly generated.

I'm going to disagree with the removal of the offending thread. Editing the first post, and make sure the last post references this thread, and locking it would have been a better solution.

I'm a firm believer that correcting mistakes is great, removing them, does not make the fact that events occurred (good or bad) did not happen.

In fact, I believe it is a good example of how a company can respond to criticism, deserved or otherwise (in this case the mistake being that you missed the email), this will provide plenty of evidence for the community as a whole that the company has quality customer service. Think of it as an exercise.

Obviously, I am sure others will completely disagree with me, and that is fine as well, I'm just stating one possible opinion and the potential outcome.

^ I understand and appreciate your point but the "offending thread" was not deleted or locked. I only removed the erroneous information posted by Maverick and comments specifically targeting his post. Members are still free to discuss their experience with Weistec.

If Maverick wants me to restore his comments with a link to this thread I will but given these new facts, I don't think it's fair to Weistec.

good job owning up.....its a tricky spot

ive talked to steve a few times and visited their shop, in my opinion, they know there stuff very well, esp as they are mercedes only tuners, this is all they work on. If i was to tune or do any mods i wouldnt hesitate to use them...
