2014 E63 Production Delay
Long time reader...first time poster...lol...
I was hoping to be the first to take delivery of a 2014 E63 here in Hawaii.
I ordered back in the beginning of March an Iridium Silver E63 with the night styling package. My production date was supposed to have been July 5 with delivery to the islands in early September.
After I read about the engine shortage on another thread, I contacted my sales guy. His first initial fact finding had everything still on track. Until...today...
He received notice that my car was not built due to the lack of engines! Darn you one person, one engine, Germans!

He's researching to find a new time schedule for my car.
But I ask this wonderful forum... Anybody else have an idea? Again ordered first week of March - July 5 build - September 5-10 delivery.
I guess I'll live through the picture of that silver/night style E63 in the other string for now. Sigh.
Sucks to hear about it though, I hope you get one soon!

Yeah it wasn't the email and call that I wanted for sure. But at this point, I'm just trying to get an idea of when it could possibly arrive. He's supposed to know more on the "new" timeline Monday or Tuesday. With the time difference between here and Germany being huge...he couldn't get any updates Friday.
To be honest... When I saw your thread about that Saturday delivery, I thought it was so cool. Figured it also meant, my E63 was around the corner since I ordered first week of March. So much for that theory!
So glad to hear you're enjoying your new rocket ship and that it looks even more impressive in real life.
Thanks for the reply, I'm going to head back and stare at that picture of the silver E63 with night styling...for a few hours...lol.
Grats on getting your VIN...hope your delivery comes as you expect.
I should know more concretely next week where I'm now at in the timeline.
Even if it was finished right now... I'm told...
It would take almost 60-days to get here!
The car ships across the Atlantic, goes down and around South America, and lands in Los Angeles. It gets checked out, cleaned up, and then sent off to Hawaii. That's a 3-4 day cruise from LA to Honolulu. Throw in a few days for the here dealer to check again and details and it adds up to about two months from build to finish to me sitting in it.

Which if all goes well...means...a mid-November arrival here is the islands.
Anybody else get new info on their orders and deliveries? Aloha!
When my car eventually ships...
It will cross the Atlantic, then go down and around South America, land in Los Angeles and get checked out, back on another boat, sail over the Pacific to Honolulu, unloaded, 25 mile per hour max speed convoy to dealer, re-checked, detailed and 25mph limiter taken off, and finally taken home.
Hawaii is great...but it does add an extra month to the delivery timeline!
No real complaint though, it all works out in the end, as pointed out previously.

My unofficial analysis seems to be about two months behind initial build dates.
Hang in there!
For me... I'll have to settle for a nice trip to the North Shore for views of winter big wave surf. I'm on Oahu. But each island certainly has amazing scenes and scenery. Enhanced when driving an E63 of course!
Maui seems to be even worse.

But for me... There's enough areas where I can enjoy the E63 a bit.
When you're on Maui... One of the local treats you'll want to try. Tasaka Guri-Guri. The little shop is right near the airport. It's sort of like sherbet but even better!
See you in a couple of years.
Roadwise...gotta love those stretches where it pretty much becomes a one lane road...lol... Good times!
Oh yeah... Maui also has the only Krispy Kreme donuts shop in Hawaii.
