wagon and warranty
No, I didn't buy the wagon that was in Arizona. I bought one in New Jersey. It runs wonderfully, panels are aligned properly and the car runs straight.
Concerning the warranty, the Fidelity warranty is actually a 6 year, 100,000 mile warranty. My MB program runs out this December, and then I'll use the Fidelity program.
How long does the MB program run, is it bumper to bumper, and is there a deductible? I've have not signed the Fidelity contract because it runs 6 years from the sign up date. I've got about a month to go before I hit 35,000 miles, which is the cut off for qualifying for the warranty.

the MB program is the same MB program that's been offered forever. For CPO, it starts the days after CPO warranty ends, and is unlimited miles now (since late 2014?). I've dealt with both aftermarket warranties and the ELW, and there is no comparison with the ELW since there's zilch deductible and it's bumper-to-bumper vs exclusions. I'd rather sell the car before the ELW ends than buy a "Fidelity". But that's just me.

I bought a 7 year 100k National Warranty Corp extended warranty for $3,800 including tax and $0 deductible. It'll essentially get kicked in after my factory warranty runs out so I'll get 3 additional years. It works at any independent shop or MB dealer in the US and I've had great success with the same program on my R63. Definitely more attractive than MB's extended warranty and I can take it to any shop I want.

Only through car dealers. I bought mine from my local dealership MB of Seattle but other dealers may sell as well. I'm not sure if they need to see the car in person to verify mileage and VIN etc.

******* you beat me by a day. I almost went to sign the paper on Tuesday but held off while looking at the wagons at RAB. Definitely call Erin. for that car, she quoted me < $3900. She's gonna be confused by the same VIN, lolz.

'15 E63S wagon
Oh man, got lucky then. I almost didn't do it but after driving it I was hooked. Black wasn't my first choice, or even 2nd, but it's a clean 1-owner car. Good luck with your search!

Ya, go for the MB warrantee, I would not do a independent warrantee, I know I use to be in the car business. I got mine through Erin, I think it was 4300 for a 7 year 125K warrantee but that was a while back, they have gone up quite a bit the past year.

Again just a different perspective. I've got the NAC that's paid out 150% of original cost and I can take it to anyone I want to work on the car. For me, it's better since it's cheaper and more flexible than the OE Mercedes one. Prices now are quite a bit higher than before. I think I was quoted over $6,000 from Erin for mine.

06 MB R500 - 50K MILES, 00 CAD ELDORADO 37K MILES, 97 BMW Z3 57K MILES AND 91 CHEVY C1500 800K MIL
Just purchase 2007 R500 (looking for warranty).
I just purchased a 2007 R500 with 28K miles from Carmax. It's coming from CA to Dallas, TX and should arrive in about 3 weeks.
Now shopping for Extended Warranty, Carmax offer 5yr/125k miles at $4500.00 w/150 deduct. Have two other offers AAA AutoProtection at 5yr/100k at $3550.00 w/100 deduct and Auto Advantage Inc. at 5yr/100k at $4505.00.
This will be my daily driver and can put 25k per year in Dallas city driving.
Does MB offer any coverage for a 2007 R500 with 28k?

MB Warranty
I believe you only can buy a MB warranty if you buy the car from a MB dealer AND it still is under warranty when you buy the extended warranty. I believe your only option is an aftermarket program.

At least the R is from Cali so it's probably in good condition. With the R-Class you definitely want a warranty because I heard that car is plagued with so much problems.

Erin and MB of Santa Rosa
I can chime in here to echo all the positive comments about Erin and the dealership in general. I lived in Santa Rosa for several years and bought several cars from these guys--both Mercedes and Volvos. They are the absolute best I have ever dealt with. Never any pressure or the usual dealership BS. Honest and very professional. I am good friends with Nick Stauers their service manager and I just cannot tell you how helpful they have been over the years. I now live in Reno and if it weren't for my credo of buying local, I would be getting my new E63 from them. I may still get the extended warranty from them though.

I've never seen a definitive answer. Can a second owner qualify for an extended warranty so long as the car is under the original factory warranty term? Or is it only available to an original owner. The dealer here says it only is available to the original owner. Their quote for a 2013 C63 was 7800 for the 3yr/75000.

Check with another dealer or call Erin, a second owner can get the extended warranty for sure.

Erin told me the only exception was if the car was bought from an authorized MB dealer and it was not CPO'd. That was on a E63, I'm assuming that would apply for the C63 as well. My local dealer told me I wasn't eligible for the MB warranty either until they discovered that the 3rd party warranty companies they carried wouldn't cover the E63. Then they said they pulled some string for me so I could get the MB warranty. I got mine through Erin, she was the cheapest I could find. I would be very wary of a dealer that would lie to you for their own financial gain.
